Matterhorn Glacier Paradise is one of the most popular things to do in Zermatt (and one of the top things to see in Switzerland). It invites you to enjoy the fresh (and thin) air at 3883 meters/12740 feet - the highest cable car station in Europe!
At the top you can see Mont Blanc in France, Gran Paradiso in Italy, and even all the way to the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains. (Apparently you can also see the Mediterranean on a super clear day!)
Inside the Klein Matterhorn mountain you can walk below the surface of a glacier and even enjoy a ride down an ice slide. Or enjoy a film in Europe’s highest cinema.

Zermatt amazing unforgettable experience, the Matterhorn mountain, truly a glacier paradise especially, The Juangfrau the peak of Europe, First Cliff Walk and the Hotel restaurant cafe at Grindelwald, Rottenboden, the hiking trip in the snow from Matterhorn to Zermatt, Magical Mesmerizing and Amazing must see and recommended while visiting Switzerland.

Thank you for this amazing videos. Travelling to Switzerland for the first time and will be in zermatt 08/19, taking train from Zurich. Is there a train station at the airport and how far is it. We only have carry on so as soon as we deplane we head down to the train station. Is the train station easy to navigate? I’m travelling with my husband who has mobility issue. Is it advisable to get a wheelchair and where should I get it from. And, should I buy the pass ahead of time . I’m still confuse about which pass to buy. Staying in jungfrau region for 4 nights and 3 nights in zermatt. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Hoping to hear from you soon. Thank you for what you do. You guys are amazing!

Hello Jana and Brett! Just a question. If I book online a ticket to the Glacier Paradise under the reduced category (50% discount because I have a Swiss Travel Pass), is a printed copy of the Swiss Travel Pass required when I get to the cable car station?

Usually yes! You will want both in case they ask. (Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t…)

Question. With the Glacier Trail, can you just do a small portion of it and turn around or is that not possible? I’d love to see that view you had of that small lake but don’t know if I can do 6km on such a rocky surface.

For sure you can do that! The first lake with the Matterhorn reflections is just a 5-10 minute walk from the Trockener Steg station!

That depends on the activities you’ll be doing! Usually the Half Fare Card is a better deal, but you could price out your itinerary to decide.

If we only have one day in Zermatt, is it possible to do Glacier Paradise and Matterhorn both? If so, which order? Also, how long did it take you to hike from Trockener Steg to Schwarzee? Which mountain has the fat scooters? Thanks!

Absolutely it's possible! We just don't "recommend it" because there's so much to see along each cable car/train line that we think it's best to break the two experiences into two separate days. Be sure to check out our 3-day guide to Zermatt because it answers these and so many other questions you're likely to have as you plan. But one specific note - we do NOT at all recommend those fat scooters. We think the mountain carts from Blauherd to Sunnegga are a much better experience.

We mentioned in the tickets section that there is one cable car line up from the village to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. And you can buy tickets in the SBB app, or of course at the station. Hope that helps!
