Matterport Pro 2 vs. Pro 3: Timing, are you saving more time with the Pro 3?

My good friend Bruno Versaci (Realtor and Photographer) assisted me with a quick test of the time to scan between the Pro 2 and the Pro 3 to see if you're really saving that much time by using a Pro 3.
Matterport's website says "And Pro3 is fast - with a capture speed under 20 seconds per sweep."
Well we did a test! to compare how long it took to scan, download and align (show) a single scan point using the pro 2 and pro 3 side by side. Check it out here.

Is speed the only difference between the cameras, because the difference in price is almost the double

no there's several more differences. matterport's website can clue you in.

The ipad you are using is going to make the most difference with speed, not the camera. Are you both using the same type of iPad?

😆 this was painful, yet entertaining to watch…thanks for sharing. I use a pro 2 and would love the flexibility of working outside without worrying about the sunlight. But is this worth dropping another $6k?? What do you think?

ah it was painful to make! just kidding. there are more advantages to having the pro3 than just being able to scan outside. slightly faster scans, further distances between scans, hardly any alignment issues.

What is the quality of the final product for Pro2 vs Pro3? I would only be doing indoors for now. $1000 vs $5000-$6000 :0

Short answer is very little noticeable difference between them for indoor photography.
