Subbed :) There are so few videos on YT that genuinely explain the more advanced stuff, never mind ones that do it well. There are hundreds of 'advanced drifting tips' videos that show me how to pull the handbrake to initiate a drift, or that the clutch can often be useful, or that in order to drift you need to control the throttle and move the big round thing that's in front of your seat - but genuinely advanced techniques being explained in a video is really rare. So basically, please keep doing these videos.

I have been sim racing and auto racing for a few years now and have gotten so much better at left foot braking but when and how to use it in drifting i am struggling immensely with and this helped! I feel like i am starting to understand clutch kick as well but once again, another struggle lol. Love the irl and sim bids my man, keep it up!
@copperbruh1415 Жыл бұрын
Very late reply but about clutch kicking . Clutch kicking is based off of experience your hearing and overall sense of the car. If you know the right timing and when clutch kicking is necessary you will definitely improve . For example. When you enter and clutch kick , if it’s too late your dead , too early probably also dead . Really get down timing and not only clutch kicking will be easier but same with a lot of skills

@thesprawl2361 Жыл бұрын
Left foot braking is something I feel like you just naturally pick up in drifting as you push yourself. You slow down for a corner with the brake and you realise that when you're beyond a certain angle the back end flips out*(so you probably end up in the grass or the hoardings the first few times that happens), and from there you just realise that that's something you can actually use as a technique. It's like skidding to a halt on your BMX as a kid and flipping the back wheel around as you stop. Same principle: the weight lifts off the back wheel and onto the front, meaning traction is decreased at the back and increased at the front, so you can really flip the back around quickly. But I'd need to be know physics properly to be able to explain what's happening with small, delicate left foot brake inputs, like the ones you use when drifting really precisely. It definitely seems like something that, like you say, you never really master because it's just another way of precisely controlling the car, and you're never going to perfectly master that either. I only drift in Assetto and BeamNG, so I've no idea whether any of the stuff I do in these spaces will translate that well to the real world, but I can at least tell you that it works in the opposite direction: the real life techniques really work in Assetto and to a lesser extent BeamNG. It is a technique that I've genuinely heard some people who do these kinds of 'learn to drift' videos describe as 'not necessary', which I do not understand at all. It's crucial, and it gets more crucial the more power the car has. *I think because when you brake the weight is shifted forward, away from the back wheels and onto the front ones which makes the back end slipperier and the front end grippier
@kaybevang5363 жыл бұрын
In the 90s the Silvia’s and 86 and Starlets where one of the most perfect cars for the braking drifts essentially a Keichi Tsuchiya like style drift especially his no E brake style drift when he uses only inertia and brake petal only

Technical question: If you have a heavier car, do you need higher horsepower when drifting? Like would my 300ZX need more than say a 240SX to achieve the same results? Or since it's grip limited does it kind of even out? Love the content my dude.
