Many years ago I got very sick. Went to the doctor for several months with a different diagnosis each time. I asked for a blessing many times. The last time I received it blessing I was told I will be healed completely but not quickly. Twenty years later I still deal with the effects, but it doesn't hinder my daily life. I just want to thank you both again for a great lesson. The stand outs for me this week are 1. the maps which show me where I am. 2. the renactment of Jesus cleansing the leper - the look on his face - made it real for me. Finally - I love how you portray the readings and put feelings and context to them. Scripture Central has brought the scriptures to life for me. Once last thing, I also love Lynne Hilton Wilson's treatment of the same scriptues. Thank you.

Thank you T&T Brothers. Mark 1:40-41 has significant meaning for me when I came to know FIRST hand what Leprosy was and meant. During my 16th year, I spent 4 months on the Island of Molokai picking Pineapples away from the confines of Granger, Utah. During that summer, I learned all about the Leper Colony at Kalaupapa which is now a National Historic Park founded by Father Damien. In the late '60s, there were still some Island People that had family members that contracted this very sad disease and were living there. They described to me how devastating it was to their family member and what impact it had on the family. Based on my limited knowledge only through the scriptures and the movie Ben-Hur, I had no idea of its REAL LIFE impact!! So, the Savior's healing touch in Mark chapter 1 was probably the only human touch from another person this leper had for perhaps years and years. Ah, the healing compassionate touch of the Master's Hand !! "If thou wilt, Canst thou make me clean."

Hi Taylor and Tyler, loved this weeks lesson on the Saviour’s Baptism, etc. I know you’re interested in words. You talked about the importance of human touch for the leper, and how a hug can be important. In Wales we don’t “HUG”, we call it a “CWTCH”. It involves an embrace, of course, but it also signifies an embrace with your heart. I can imagine if anyone knows how to really cwtch us, it would be the Saviour. Thanks brethren. We love your lessons here in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. God bless. Mike and Moira Jones 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 xxxx

I served a mission in Brazil and was surprised by a detail when reading the story of the leper there. In the Portuguese version of the bible, the scripture translates directly to the leper, saying, "You can heal me, if you want to." And Jesus replies, "I want to." It was a reminder to me of the love of the Lord, and that it is more than "His will" for what is best for us, but that He sincerely cares and desires to bless us.

To me, this particular story of the leper also makes me think of Christ's impending sacrifice and atonement. He took upon him our sins and our illnesses, so each time he heals someone, he is assenting to taking that burden upon himself. When Jesus in this instance answeres "if thou wilt" with "I will", it is to me as if he is reaffirming his mission. "I will (both as in "I want to" and "I am going to") take upon myself your sin, illness and weakness and atone for them so thay you may have peace, joy, purity and life in me."

Bro Halverson & Bro Griffin, I just love being a student in your classes. CFM is the best thing that's ever happened. I am always blown away all the time with these presentations. The insights here are amazing and they are answers to a lot of personal questions. Even with trials, your spiritually inspired words do bring hope and understanding to the challenges we are facing. It's so awesome getting to know Mark. Even though I've heard the names of the gospel writers my whole life, I am seeing more sides to them and I am loving it. It's with a different and more personal lens now, and it's as if I'm getting to know them for the first time. Interestingly, as Mark was a scribe for Peter, and as we read more of the book of Mark. I am wondering if Peter's words and thoughts are implemented along with his own in some of his writings. I wonder if that is a point to consider as the journey continues. So exciting, I can't wait to learn and read more about this. I found it very interesting what was said about the spirits who follow the adversary, and how they have no agency. Wow! Amazing Insight! I know they run around and cause trouble along with their ringleader, but the stories in the scriptures still tell me the Saviour is the boss and still calls the shots over them despite the havoc they cause. It's almost as if there are rules they have to follow and boundaries they cannot cross. In a sense, they have some power and leeway, but it's limited. All it takes is one word from the Saviour to put them in their place. That was an amazing insight, Bro Halverson. I love what Bro Griffin said about truth with these spirits. And how they can speak the truth and even know what truth is themselves. More importantly, I love how Bro Griffin pointed out that these versions of truth are coming from beings who are inherently untruthful. Brilliant insight! I love what was said about Miracles. That was some really beautiful counsel. I am grateful the words were delivered with love. Even though my spirit understands what's being said, it is still so hard. Especially when I hear words like ' You might not get the Miracle or blessing until the next life. There are times I tell the Lord I am exhausted, and have been doing my part for ages now, and am still not seeing anything from him. I take my frustrations to him and let him know how I feel. I know he is happy when his children bring their grievances to him and have those conversations. Even though I feel like giving up at times, I won't because I know he's with me even in no man's land. I know I'd rather have him with me while waiting and hoping for the miracle, than not have him at all. There was something Bro Griffin said about spiritual growth in these times. I have thought about that point a lot too. I know everyone is different and will have different answers, but sometimes I think there is vital spiritual growth happening in those waiting times. As much as I don't want to say it because I want the miracle, those in-between times are still times of spiritual growth. This is just my take on it. Thank you so much, SC for all you do. I know a lot of healing happens from watching this channel. The spirit of the Lord is on this channel, and even Angels are on this channel. Also, I am just wondering, why isn't Bro Halverson saying 'Spread light and goodness' at the end of the presentations anymore? Loving the journey with CFM. God bless everyone at Scripture Central ❤️.

my grandfather's favorite hymn was "Unanswered Yet The Prayer" from the very old blue hymnal. It goes with the point you were trying to make (I think) about remaining steadfast even tho' your prayer seems to go unanswered... Unanswered yet? The prayer your lips have pleaded In agony of heart these many years? Does faith begin to fail, is hope departing, And think you all in vain those falling tears? Say not the Father hath not heard your prayer; You shall have your desire, you shall have your desire Sometime, somewhere. You shall have your desire, sometime, somewhere Unanswered yet? Though when you first presented This one petition at your Father's throne, It seemed you could not wait the time of asking, So urgent was your heart to make it known. Though years have passed since then, do not despair; The Lord will answer you, the Lord will answer you Sometime, somewhere. The Lord will answer you. Sometime, somewhere. Unanswered yet? No, do not say un granted; Perhaps your part is not yet fully done; The work began when first your prayer was uttered, And God will finish what He has begun. If you will keep the spirit burning there, His glory you shall see, His glory you shall see. Sometime, somewhere. His glory you shall see. Sometime, somewhere. Unanswered yet? Faith cannot be unanswered; Her feet were firmly planted on the Rock; Amid the wildest storm prayer stands undaunted, Nor quails before the loudest thunder shock. She knows Omnipotence has heard her prayer, And cries, "It shall be done, " And cries, "It shall be done, " Sometime, somewhere. And cries, "It shall be done, " sometime, somewhere.

Taylor and Tyler, just a short comment, and addition to your commentary, on the event of Jesus casting the devil out of a man in the synagogue. I thought I had written this down in my scripture notes on this scripture block in Mark or Luke but I didn't so I have no source to give from which I learned this additional idea, which is this: Jesus also commanded the devils to remain silent because He was not about to let a devil usurp the role and opportunity for the Holy Ghost to bear witness of His divinity. They, the devils, have no right to bear witness of the Son of God, that is the job of the Holy Ghost. Just as it was not Satans role in the garden of Eden to influence and "give" the fruit of the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil to Adam and Eve, it is not the place of a devil to testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ and He was not about to allow anyone present to hear that testimony from an evil source. Now I need to go search and find which devotional talk or Conference Talk or seminary/Institute Manual I thought I read or heard this idea from so I can officially document it in my scriptures written and digital.

Any chance you can add subtitles to your videos? I would like to watch while nursing my baby. Helpful for those who are deaf to. Just a thought. Kia Ora

Question on January 29th where Jesus fasted and was tempted by Satan why is it written that he Satan took him to pinnacle temple. But on Joseph Smith's corrected scripture states that he was lead or taken to the pinnacle or temple by the spirit which should be the correct way. So basically just a hiccup in the Come Follow Me lesson because it should be labeled JST in the lesson.

I found your treatment of the Savior cleansing the possessed man, and discussion about the adversary and his minions, a little too lighthearted. I'm familiar with an individual who was very disturbed by it, as if there was a lack of the seriousness regarding encounters people have with that element.

Hey yall...trick question here...anyone can answer and I'm encouraging anyone with an opinion to do so. Jesus called all of His apostles after His baptism didn't he? So wouldn't the apostles accounts of His baptism be second or even a third-hand recounting? Please discuss.

Jesus disciples had likely been the disciples of John the Baptist first. They could have seen Jesus baptism or heard about it from John

I have a question… was baptism by immersion ever a tradition or practiced by the Jews or any other groups of people besides John the Baptists group? Just wondering when did the practice of baptism by immersion begin? I understand that the answer is not going to get me into heaven… haha! But I am curious about the history of this sacred ordinance.

Love it!!! This solidifies my testimony of how much we needed the Prophet Joseph Smith to restore scriptures that gives so much more clarity to the bible. Thank you for answering my question!!

The Pharisees kept the whole law. However, they looked beyond the mark by failing to recognize the law giver, Jesus Christ, when He came among them. That’s why, the Savior refused to receive them when they came to be baptized at the Jordan River (see JST, Matthew 9:18-21). Like the Pharisees, it is quite possible for us to keep all the commandments and still miss why we do what we do. Our “why” should always be rooted in Christ. Let us remember to not look beyond the mark.
