I have pondered upon what has been shared this week, and have considered how the past decade of participation in ARP has shaped me. I am still a rough stone, however, I recognize that I am not the same rough stone that began the process. Iam not as swift to do evil, nor am I as unforgiving at my fall. I cherish the grace of daily repentance. And I acknowledge the love Jesus offers me.

This is one of Bro Halversons great sermons on New Testament scripture. At times while studying scriptures, pondering and praying for inspiration and knowledge, the slate remains blank. Bro Halverson speaks as though he walks alongside the Saviour in Galilee and "sees" as those who were beneficiaries during His mortal ministry. Many have felt power and Spirit at these teachings as presented by Bro Halverson and all would benefit at his wisdom and knowledge that is imparted him from Heavenly vaults. He has compassion for the gentile as well as the saints, and those of all faiths who testify of Jesus Christ. There are many blogs and vlogs prolific online, however Bro Halverson rises above them all. Take the time to personally study the scriptures then follow Bro Halverson, then you would do well because your path would remain in the Narrow Way as you have passed the Straight gate.

I am glad you brought up about knowing someone when you were kids like a Stake President or Relief Society President, I remember as I always had a low self esteem which I learned it was not, I was just a trusting person when it came to obedience, trust me I am not perfect. I often wondered why I wasn't called to be a Relief Society President or top notch something in the church thought Heavenly Father didn't love me, after all I obeyed everything in the Gospel, and the impression came to me, others have much to learn, you know what to do I trust you 😮 I was given a blessing and was told Heavenly Father trusted me, I was like no don't trust me I make mistakes lols. I have come to realize that I just need to be ready when he calls if this makes any sense.

I've had this thought before and it has come back to me now. I was struck by the realization that there were likely nearly as many sects of the Jewish faith in Jesus' time as we have denominations in Christianity today. With the same struggles between divine authority and the records of their predecessors. The more things change, the more they stay the same!

Thank you Brother Halverson. Could it be possible for these selected men to be called on a mission and the Lord knowing before hand they would accept. Loaded their boats (2) with fish so those provisions would be able to sustain the family's who were left behind for a time until other worthy workers could be found to continue the family tradition of fishing for sustenance?

Hello. Speaking about Luke 4:20-21, "and He sat down", the reader was supposed to comment about what he read; and B. Jared, the Lord made an awesome comment about "me", the same comment He used, being 12, at the temple quoting Malachi "...unless "I" come and smite the earth with a curse.", and all were listening. I love it!!!

I love your insights into the temptati 1:31 ons. One of my questions is: what does it mean in JST Matt 4 “and Jesus was in the spirit”. I think of Nephii 11 and Nephi was caught away in the spirit as he experienced this mountain that he had never set foot on or seen before and has this amazing encounter and conversation with the Holy Ghost. Are these referring to a physical and spiritual experience at the same time or is it strictly a dream like experience where the physical body does not go anywhere?

To your discussion on Jesus reading in the synagogue (around min 30 or so), it sure seems that right up to that point, people were hopeful that He might be the Messiah. In Luke 4:15, right before he reads from Isaiah, it says "And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all." Even after proclaiming that Isiah's prophecy had been fulfilled, it seems like, although they were skeptical, they were still at that point somewhat open to accepting Him as the Messiah as they marveled. They weren't furious at that point. They seem to still be skeptically hopeful. But when he mentions the Gentiles being saved, I hear them say: "now them there is fightin' words." I think this also reminds us how important it is not to be so blasted non-confrontational, so passively politically correct, but instead to boldly stand for what is right, renounce sin, and share the need for repentance for all, including ourselves. I think if we are following in Christ's example, we may find ourselves in situations where we need to stir the pot a little, and that's ok, if done with love.

from my understanding there is a larger miracle about the nets and fish. the nets they had were very large cords and the reason they fished at night was because during the day the fish could see and avoid the nets. So to throw nets over in day would be useless except that they followed what Jesus said.

I have an interesting question, i was watching a podcast and someone asked "if Satan repented, could he be forgiven?"
@curtiste3235 Жыл бұрын
I think the short answer is yes. The long answer is that by his (satan's) very nature... he doesn't want it. So is it available? I think so... although the road would be VERY difficult (One apostle said that adult children who have strayed are not lost forever if protected by being born under the covenant. "They may have to walk a very thorny path back", but it is possible. So "don't despair". End quote/paraphrase). The problem for sons of perdition is a refusal to surrender their pride and their lies- even in the face of bold, crystal clear truth. They want what they want. They would rather be right in their own minds than agree with God's eternal truth, or in other words, reality. Just one person's opinion. I could be wrong, as always. God Bless.

Interesting contrary that I noted. Relationship with Christ vs Awe of Christ. Luke 4:16-22 People of Nazareth new Jesus well and had a relationship with him as neighbors but felt no awe of him as Son of God. Luke 4:33-34. Unclean spirit new Christ as Son of God or awe, but had no relationship with him.

Sadly, it is primarily because of our rejection of “scribal authority” as the ONLY authority that so many of our fellow Christians consider us to be something other than Christian. “Solo scriptura” is a huge stumbling block for those who reject any scriptural revelation outside the Bible.
@hollayevladimiroff131 Жыл бұрын
1 Corinthians 11, has no doctrine indicated regarding eternal marriage, The bible is the authority, the difference between LDS doctrine and Christianity is Christians believe in the authority of the bible, it is God's word. Mormon doctrine does not believe that the bible is the Word of God, that behind each word is the Holy Spirit otherwise they would not refer to another book. Why would you want to go to a different reference when you have the truth, the Holy Spirit and the Word of God in one Book. 1 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first that no prophesy of scripture is of any private interpretation, prophesy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. If God created billions of stars and named each one of them, He certainly could have created a pure and reliable doctrine. I will take Gods word any day over Joseph Smiths word. God is the Author of the Bible, and the bible has been proven over and over by historians and archeologists, unlike the Book of Mormon, the Book of Mormon has had many changes done to it by man. The bibles' reliability has been proven, the manuscripts came from the original writing of the great prophets that you are teaching about, they have been carefully copied with the greatest of care and the Holy Spirit was with each scribe. For a book to be canonized it must be provable and inspired, the bible has these two requirements, this is why it is the most respected and profound book in the world.
