A Tree and Its Fruit
15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?
17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.
18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'

Paul Washer preaches straight up works-salvation. Anyone who trusts in Jesus -- the son of God Who died and rose again to pay the penalty for their sins -- and in Him alone (not their good work) for eternal life, is saved.

I think he would agree with your second statement. What’s he’s really trying to stress is that works are evidence of salvation, and if someone doesn’t have works their faith is dead and they haven’t truly been born again. We are born again by simply trusting in Christ, so salvation is not of works at all, but works will follow and be evidence of salvation

Paul Washer is not a false prophet. He has God's love for the unconverted who think they are saved but are not, and their lifestyle of sin and rebellion proves it! He's begging them to repent and truly believe on Christ! Thank the Lord for him that he cares for those who have fallen through the cracks and really didn't GET SAVED! Love is the narrow path and is less trotten! Those who take this path must be willing to be different and break away from the pack, to go their own way and follow what's true for them; while also following the Truth. Satan's path is the path of least resistance! It's easy, broad and well populated; but it won't get you there. That path takes you to the wrong direction! As a result, it is the path of suffering! No matter how successful, how wealthy, how beautiful or how admired you are; that path won't get you where you want to go, and where you're meant to go. @BiblesOnLine What the Bible reveals to us is that we are sinners by nature and we sin. That God is Holy and He hates sin. Sin is transgression of the Law. The wages of sin is death. We need a savior. Jesus being God (He who knew no sin became sin for us) and died as a propitiation for us so that if we repent and believe in Him we will be saved.

Matthew 7 Matthew 7 honestly use to scare me in my early Christian years. Now to day this same scripture gives me assurance and compassion to reach out those people trusting in their works and those unaware of the gospel. In Matthew 7 If you notice Jesus starts off by addressing false prophets, and says you will know the false prophets by their fruit, in context this fruit is doctrine and or people they convert. People usually assume Jesus is talking about the fruit of Christian, nope, he is addressing those people trusting in their works, and teaching others to do the same. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?” (Matthew 7:15) It always go back to who you are trusting in for eternal life,Jesus or your self and good works, which will never be enough. This is why In Christ we are sinless, perfected, and hidden in him, He is our perfect representatives, "For by one offering he has perfected forever them that are sanctified” Hebrews 10:14 "For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory” Colossians 3:3-4 Observe, "So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:19-20). If this passage is talking about behavior, then that means we cannot bear one bad fruit just as Jesus said; that means perfection, which is impossible and we are not capable of. This passage is actually addressing the fruit of false prophets which is what false prophets teach and the people converted by false prophets. Observe, "Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.” Matthew 7:15 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are” Matthew 23:15 Thats why we trust in Jesus as our perfect representative, and substitute, we are made perfect by him alone, we trust solely in him for salvation. "Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession” (Hebrews 4:14). "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21) When the world stands before Jesus all that will matter is, are you dead or alive? Did you trust in me for salvation or trust in your own works that are like filthy rags for salvation? “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? ’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness" (Matthew 7:21-23). 
 The lordship people never came to a saving faith in Christ alone because they never truly embraced the true gospel of faith alone. They may have a sincere devotion for doing works to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but without faith in Christ they have nothing. They put their faith and hope in prophecy, casting out demons, and their many mighty works for salvation. They were workers of lawlessness because they were guilty before God,James 1 says you break one law you break them all. They were not washed by the blood of Jesus to cleanse them of ALL of their sins, therefore they stand condemned and did not cross from death to life. "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life" (John 5:24 ESV). They trusted in themselves rather than doing the will of God, which is trusting in Jesus Christ alone as the perfect sacrifice for our sin, that is why Jesus said even though they did all those things they never did the will of the father, which is only believing in Jesus Christ for Salvation. They never recognized how wicked we all truly are and have no hope of saving ourselves no matter what we do. "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day" (John 6:40 ESV). The only works God called is to do for salvation is believe in him, “Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” John‬ ‭6:29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Only those who do the will of the Father will enter the Kingdom. Jesus immediately explains clearly what he means. Those who hear his words in the Sermon on the Mount and do them are like the wise man who built his house upon the rock and only these will enter the Kingdom of God. This is basic reading comprehension. "Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’ “Every one then who HEARS THESE WORDS OF MINE AND DOES THEM will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. The only thing I have ever found wrong that he has said is maybe when he talks about the Four Spiritual Laws. I think it is just an explanation of what the Gospel is. I do agree with him if a person just says a prayer and then goes about his or her life living however they want, ie. in sin, that they are probably not saved. Remember what Jesus said about the good tree and the bad tree. Only a good tree can produce good fruit and a bad tree can only produce bad fruit. "You will know them by their fruits." And "childlike faith", You are kinda wrong when you said that we are not saved by repenting of sin. Jesus said, "...But unless you repent, you too will all likewise perish." Luke 13:3. It's like my dad says, it's kinda two sides of the same coin. The first thing Jesus said when he started His ministry was, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 3:2. You also said that, "no one ever turns from all sin...". Well, you're right; Ecclesiastes 7:20 says, "Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins." We will all stumble and fall but that does not mean that we are to live anyway we want. We are to continually repent, everyday.

I think that Mr Washers take on Regeneration is right on as far as being saved by grace or works, It is obvious that if you truely accept Christ as your savior and believe you will them be changed by the Holy Spirit, The day i repented and accepted Christ many of the sins that i did i no longer have any urge to do.

You can't just willfully do whatever you want whenever you want for example *(going on a killing spree every other day & think you'll be alright with God)* . The 1st coming of Christ was to forgive us of our sins, the second coming will be to kill and unleash wrath on those who conform to this world. Hell is an eternal damnation of physical torment. The scripture does not lie, many will think they are going to enter the gates but be cast into hell. Everyone needs to search their hearts and truly repent. (Refining by fire). 1 John 2:15-17 King James Version 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. Don't forget, many false doctrines are PLEASING & ITCHING to the ears. Teaching people its okay to live in their sin & not renewing their minds & character in Christ is EASY&ITCHING to the ears.

I'll give that Calvinist Paul Washer credit for being sincere. He was extremely sincere. But that doesn't mean he was theologically correct. I'm not a Calvinist. His sermon, if it was preached by an arminian, would have implied that a person could lose their salvation - which is something that I believe. However, I think, and please correct me if I am wrong, he is trying to tell people that they never got saved and therefore they are predestined to hell. Honestly, I have listened to this sermon several times, and it blows me away. This guy is incredible even though I still can't figure out for sure his point.

His point is very simple a true BORN again Christian will sin but they will be crushed by that sin and REPENT. A true believer hates sin like God hates sin. You can't say your are saved unless the spirit of God dwells in you , and there's a radical supernatural change in a person's life.

Read James 2 - It shows that Abraham was justified by works. Now Read Romans 4 - It shows that Abraham was justified by works BUT NOT BEFORE GOD. So in conclusion - the justification by works is BEFORE MAN in James 2. Be careful how you're reading because every word in the bible matters.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. Are you frigid? Frail or weak minded? If you became an atheist on that you have no conception of what life is about. Life is hard. Be fruitful and multiply. I don't know a straight person that would want to stop that. Family is hard work, God is a good judge and has given you free will to go to hell. You need to see the Holy Ghost just once. I dare you to seek him.

Babies do not start out sinful the bible says they are innocent but like you and I we have a choice to sin. Babies are a blessing in every-way Gods gift, u could say. If the Bible wanted to "sell itself" as being morally perfect with perfect "characters" then I would doubt the authenticity of it. Instead we need to understand redemptive history which is the entire point of the Bible.

Matt 7 is speaking about false wolf teachers like Paul Washer who trust in their works to enter heaven.. Compare with Gal 3 when Paul the apostle got angry with a false teaching wolf who was trying to corrupt babes in Christ by adding works as a requirement to enter heaven. Matt 7:22-23 kjv clearly teaches that these men were not saved trusting in their works to enter heaven as Jesus turns them away for being workers of iniquity..

There is a point when u have to come to terms with the teaching of Jesus Christ and the teachings of Saul/Paul. People die for all kinds of false causes. These teachings of Paul should be questioned by everyone who desires to know Jesus and obey him...the fact that the great majority never question this, is a declaration in itself. John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth in me HATH EVERLASTING LIFE. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, and we all die, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus paid it all and we paid 0. IT IS FREE. All we have to do is believe it to receive the free gift of eternal life. Once you have eternal life you have it forever because it is eternal and it is a free gift paid for by Jesus one blood sacrifice for all sin. We have to be as righteous as God to enter heaven. Romans 4:5-8 But to him that worketh not, but believe on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputeth righteousness apart from works. Our work could never save us. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. God does not want us living in sin, so He does not have to chasten us, but He paid for all sin so that no matter how much we sin it is already paid for. And we all still sin. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive our selves and the truth is not in us. Where sin abounds grace much more abounds. We are all sinners but our sin debt is paid in full. We can no longer be condemned . That is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. PAID IN FULL. IT IS FINISHED.

Ironically this verse describes Calvinists like Paul Washer he claims you have to make Jesus lord, the people in Mathew 7 made Jesus lord but never made him savior. Jesus is already Lord you don’t make him lord

For 1. Matthew 7 starts out by saying. JUDGE NOT. You said you went to your home town and knocked on every door. Come on!!!! People like you sir run people out of church because you have these list of rules that are your Church written laws. It’s not for me to tell someone if their saved or not. That’s between them and God. See what your preaching is man taught. I understand what your saying, but what difference does it make if your southern baptist??? How can compassion & anger stay together? The way of expression have scope for improvement. Well tried though. If we understand Jesus, that will reflect in us through our characters (thoughts & acts) like love, kindness, compassion, sacrifice.... that's LAW.

Jesus God's Son made it easy through the cross,all you have to do to receive eternal life is put your trust in God's Son. Lets face it your either saved by faith or your not eph 2:8 says we are saved by faith. Mathew ch 7 is before Christ shed his blood those people had to keep the law of Moses, Gal ch 2 and 3 tells us how Jesus redeemed us from the Law. Before the cross you could not receive the spirit of Christ but now you can. Does the spirit of God's Son live in you,it is a must without the spirit you are not his Rom ch 8 How do you receive the spirit? The bible says by faith in Christ, so put your trust in the Son of God Jesus Christ and invite him into your heart. We are not saved by repenting of sin,no one ever turns from all sin andall it takes is one sin to make you lost,so you need to trust in Jesus God's only Son and stop trusting in yourself and how many sins you have gave up.
