@@brentkrohn3786Yes. Thank you for your comments. This man's knowledge of religious writings is vast. But he is also knowledgeable of religious history such as the councils held by the Catholic church. Since some writings of the New Testament were obscure or contradictory, the Church held councils where they were "clarified, interpreted or simply set straight." And hence they became doctrine. And that was that.

I studied four years at a Church college and they were honest enough to teach that the judaic origins of Christianity have been edited out in Church history because of anti-semitism. They also directed our attention to the fact that of course Herod died in 4 BCE so Jesus' birth date has had to be shifted to fit the historical timeline. Plus, the Census of Quirinus Luke 2:3 was 6 CE so there's a 10-year discrepancy in the date. "Souteria ek ton Ioudaion estin" = "Salvation is from the Jews", John 4:22, so the Christians are very inconsistent: they worship a (dead) Jew and they revere the Roman instrument of torture by which the Romans killed him,, yet they anathematise Jesus' tribal identity, his religious practices and his own beliefs. Doesn't make sense to me!

Thanks for that Harriet, finally somebody who tells the truth about the lies of the church and it's teachings if more people studied the old testament and met with a Rabbi they would see that Jesus was a man who thought he was the messiah like so many before him and so many after him that all have one thing in common, they all died and when you look for proof of Jesus outside the gospels he is not there, but there are a lot of pagan beliefs that are the story of Jesus, with virgin births and gods for fathers, once again thank you.

@fladi da Haha, what a joke. Luke’s account contradicts Matthew’s account. Luke says Christ was born in Nazareth, and his parents had to travel to Bethlehem for the census. History shows that the first Roman census was about 7CE, years after the death of Herod (4BC), putting the birthdate of Christ at least 11 years apart. Historians have written a great deal about Herod, Pilate and so many events of that era. But not a single mention anywhere about Herod killing all the babies. There are enormous contradictions in the New Testament. Matthew and Luke’s account of Christ’s genealogy totally contradicts each other. Too many to mention, but you can research it yourself. G-d loves you and is a jealous G-d. It is offensive that you worship a foreign god. My friend, repent and turn to the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

@@gospeljoy5713 I was a Christian for over 50 years and loved Jesus with all my heart. Since studying the scriptures, my eyes have been opened to the fact that we have been deceived. If you had to hire a person for your company, and you found that he had fraudulently altered his university certificate, would you employ him? If not, why would you entrust your eternal soul into the teachings of Paul? Where did the Mormons get their theology? Joseph Smith had a revelation from the Angel Maroni. Where did Paul get his theology? Galatians 1:11 For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel. 12 For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. Are you aware that almost every time Paul quoted from the Scriptures, he MISQUOTED them? If Paul was truly teaching the word of G-d, why would he constantly misquote it? Paul took it upon himself to abolish the law, which Christ said in Mathew 5, should not be changed in any way. G-d made an eternal covenant of circumcision with Abraham in Genesis 17. The scriptures teach that an uncircumcised man shall not be allowed to enter the future temple. Ezekiel 44: 9 “Thus says the Lord God: No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, of all the foreigners who are among the people of Israel, shall enter my sanctuary. But Paul took it upon himself to abolish circumcision. Galatians 5:2 Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. If G-d instructed us to march North, Paul marched South and has the church following him. You have to decide whether to follow the teachings of the greatest men of G-d who ever lived or to believe Paul. I say this with respect my friend, but only a fool would entrust their eternal soul into the teachings of Paul. I pray G-d’s discernment over you as you ponder these things.

Contrary to Jewish belief the lake of fire is eternal and once in you are trapped forever. God hates self-righteousness is based on pride. Only those who recognize they are helpless hopeless like trying to stay a float in the ocean and your boat is full of holes. You must grab the lifelinc or you perish. Or whether he believes that the Jews were in fact in Egypt and escaped through a parting of waters, for which there is no evidence whatever. The point is that it is ironic to have one set of false beliefs attacked by someone who is planted in another set. Correction rabbi! Matthew didn’t corrupt Jewish scriptures to create a Christmas scene. Matthew never heard of Christmas! The story is just about Jesus birth! And the quote from Jewish scriptures is just to share Matthew’s belief that Jesus was the messiah. Unfortunately Roman Catholicism tied the Christmas holiday to the birth of Jesus in Matthew’s gospel to justify their reasons to why Christians should celebrate Christmas. But no biblical foundation was so ever. Just Catholic tradition.

The slaughter of the innocents is unattested in secular records, but the historical plausibility of this event happening is consistent with the character and actions of Herod the Great. Besides killing his enemies, he had no qualms in killing family members and friends as well. Herod would not have given a second thought about killing a handful (Bethlehem supposedly only had about 300 people living there at the time which meant maybe 5 or 6 toddlers) of babies in a small, obscure village south of Jerusalem in order to keep his throne secure for himself, or his sons, even if it was one of the last dastardly deeds he committed before he died

I'm not surprised that the Rabbi does not discuss the Birkath Haminim or 12th Benediction (the Blessing of the Heretics) which forced the Jews who believed that Jesus was the Messiah out of the Temple and out of their communities, making them outcasts in their homelands. This is why, many Biblical scholars believe that the Matthew gospel is constructed as it was. It was to give hope and courage to those Jewish Christians who now were on their own. Most enlightened and progressive traditions accept that the infancy narratives are more myth than anything else and that the importance of Jesus is in his teachings and how each believer accepts and understands His resurrection.

Valliant does leave open the possibility that there was a pre-existing, pro-Roman sect of Jews who wrote an original Gospel which was then "adopted" and expanded upon by the Flavians. Though I think the most likely explanation can be found in Philo. We know that Philo and a number of Jews (after 350 years of intentional hellenization by the Ptolemies and Seleucids) were intentionally trying to mix Jewish religion with Greek philosophy. This fits in nicely with Richard Carrier's "Jesus the Jewish angel" theory as well as the "Two Powers in Heaven" thesis described by Alan Segal in the 70s.

Indeed, inviting guests is greater than receiving the Divine Presence, as it says, "And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold! Three men were standing before him. He saw, and he ran to meet them from the entrance of the tent, and bowed toward the ground. And he said: 'My Lord, if it please you that I find favor in Your eyes, please pass not from before your servant.' " This tells us that Abraham was sitting in prayer before God, yet when he saw the guests, he asked permission from God to interrupt his prayer, and God's revelation to him, in order to take care of his guests and invite them in. Therefore, it can be seen that inviting in guests is greater than receiving the Divine Countenance (in prayer) (the Divine Code by Rabbi Moshe Weiner, Ask Noah International, 2018, p 700).

Jesus can be found in the Old Testament. The Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek wisdom but those whom God raised up with Christ and seated in heavenly places are called to preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks, but those who are called both Jews and Greek, Christ is the power of God and wisdom of God.

I admire the rabbi's vast knowledge. He is also knowledgeable of the Church's history and the varous Councils it had, such as the Council of Nicea. When there was a discrepancy, a contradiction or an issue with the religiius texts, they would hold a council and decide what the correct interpretation would be. Doctrine would be established. End of controversy. Unfortunate that he has been able to discern Christianity's checkered past, but does not see same for Judaism. I guess faith blinds even the most knowledgeable.

The Nazarene Book of Matthew was similar yet different than the Greek Gospel of Matthew that we now have. The Naz Matthew I think was more Jewish and Jew friendly in nature (because it was written by a Jew specifically for Jews)...but lost (purged by the Catholics?) to history. Matthew isn't the only source of the Magi story, it is mentioned in the 2nd century Infancy Gospel of Thomas, it says there they were fire worshippers, a derogatory term for Zoroastrians. It is part of that religion to believe in a Saoshyant, a Messiah. So the child was a fulfilment of their proephcy. If Jesus was a Zoroastrian it would be a good reason why the Jews wanted him dead and the Romans did actually kill him. Jesus was trying to convert the Jews to Zoroastrianism and the Romans didn't want him converting the place to the religion of their enemies, the Persians.

I was once a christian. My father is even a pastor under Assemblies of God church. but the truth be told, Marks Gospel portray jesus to be a pure magician, while Matthew which is the worst gospel in the entire bible, full of lies, giving offline references that are not actually referring to the passages where he used them just to proof a point; Matthew portray jesus to be the new moses, and that's why he used most materials from the Hebrew bible about moses: together with material he stole from Marks gospel to compile his own work in order to deceive the community he is writing to: to believe in his idea of jesus being the Messiah. I'm no longer a Christian neither I'm I a jew, I only stand for truth and the truth is, jesus is not the Messiah the Hebrew prophets talked about.and in no way did he fulfill the Messianic prophecies. Christian belief in jesus fulfilling the Messianic prophesies is based on theology not fact. To me I will say, jews still hoping for a Messiah that will come just as their prophets stated is something that will never happen. There is no way the world in general will come to the knowledge of one God, such assumption is impossible. In conclusion, what Christians did is to assumption jesus to be the Messiah because the prophecy has taken long without them having Messiah with the the Hebrew bible attributes. In other hand jews still waiting and hoping for a Messiah of such the Hebrew prophets talked about, such is impossible to happen......in my final conclusion I will say/assume that Prophet Isaiah and all of the Hebrew prophets that prophecy about the coming Messiah where all drunk the day they gave that prophecy about the coming Messiah..........As for coming of a Messiah of Hebrew bible nature, is something impossible. 📖...........✍️ I dedicate this comment to my mentor who opened my eyes to see the truth and lies the foundation of Christianity is built upon. I enjoy the Rabbi's videos and l have learned a great deal, but I have a different take regarding the "star". I am not a Christian, but I do align with the views of the Nazarene Jews of the 1st Century. I believe that Paul corrupted the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles. Having said that, a star in the NT can be a star, but it can also be an "angel" (i.e. Rev 1:20). Next, there was a huge Jewish population in Mesopotamia at the time...some say more Jews in Mesopotamia (Babylon or that surrounding area) than there were in Israel (Judea). So, it is possible that there were "wise Jewish men" in Babylon, who knowing the timing of the 1st coming of the Messiah, are led to Judea by a "star/angel" (perhaps like the Israelites were led by the firey/cloudy pillar). Next, Jesus was not born on Dec 25...I think if you do the calculations from when Zecharias served his duty at the Temple, you will find that Jesus was conceived during the season of Hanukkah and born during the time period of Sukkot (the Fall season). Next, regarding the slaughtering of the children. If you accept that Jesus is the "prophet like Moses", then just as Pharoah killed the children at the time, and Moses was saved by being hidden....then it is possible that in a similar manner, the infant Jesus was hidden during the slaughter of the children by Herod.

Jesus was a Nazarene who were of the faith of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. The Pharisees were of Moses who was the law giver. The law was given to show us we cannot please God through the flesh but by the spirit. Paul was a Pharisee. He connected the beginning with the end. His revelation that God is love blew away the Pharisees because they could no longer go by their heritage of the flesh to call themselves of God. They were looking for a dictator type redeemer who would crush their enemies. That being Rome at that time. If you read the history of that time you will get more understanding of what their religion was. Abraham, isaac and jacob had no religion. They had faith. Not faith in their works but faith in the creator who was true to his word and was able to accomplish what he promised. That promise was fulfilled on a tree (cross) reversing the curse that came from a tree (good and evil). The real enemy of man is the flesh and that being led by ego no love. As Paul put it. Let God be true and every man a liar. It is by faith through his grace, not of works lest anyone boast. In other words, no ego will be allowed to boast that they were good enough for God. Nope, he is love described as Zoe, the all inclusive love of God.

@@dw3403 Hello there. In my post, I stated I wasn't a Christian, I should have qualified that by saying for the first 40 years of my life I was a dedicated going to church, Sunday School, Wednesday night Bible study, Christian, who comes from a long line of family that is dedicated to Christianity. I am very well studied in Christianity, so your post is very familiar to me. First, because you state that Jesus is a Nazarene, that is true, but, what you write after that is not true. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were Gentile Semites who obeyed the 7 Commandments of Noah (Noachides) and were not Nazarenes. Look up the Panarion of Epiphanius, he is the Pauline Christian forefather who wrote about all of the sects of Religion in Israel, and at the time of the Apostles, there were 7 sects of Judaism. You can look them up. Epiphanius states that the Nazarenes were Jews in every way except they did not eat meat, and they did not sacrifice at the Temple. That's history and its history for some reason not taught in the Church. Next, read the Clementine Literature (Peter's teaching) for a true sense of what the Nazarenes believed and taught about the law. You will find they were very serious about following the "oral Torah" commandments. You will learn that Jesus came only to remove the commandments that deal will the blood sacrificial system, replacing them with water baptism for the remission of sins. Other than that, Peter teaches the Nazarenes to follow the 4 commandments of James (commandments designed to keep gentiles from idol worship), next was the 7 commandments of Noah (you can look them up in Wikipedia), next were the Noachides plus circumcision, next were the 10 Commandments, and finally the Oral Commandments. It's a reward system, the more commandments you can consistently obey, the more of a reward you will receive. Salvation being righteous works and belief...rewards are the consistency and amount of righteous works. According to the Clementines, Paul was the enemy of Peter and the Apostles who taught false theology. I can prove it...point by point if you like, but first, read what Epiphanius says about the Nazarenes...and keep in mind, he is mocking them, not supporting them. You will find in his mocking, the true stance of the Apostles in the Nazarene belief.

@@georgew.sukach2222 That is Greek nonsense. Sorry to say, but it’s forged material about the apostles. It is made up writings not written by Clement. Have you read the book of Jubilees? @@kingdomconcepts777 There you have it...Kingdom says it ain't so, so that's the end of it...lol. No proof that anything is forged, just his opinion. They don't agree with his education, so obviously they're forged. Actually Kingdom, if you read the Clementines, you'd find there isn't much to argue about. I do have the Book of Jubilee's on hand and I quote from it often, most extensively in fact in commentaries I written on various subjects, for instance, in a commentary on the Christian Communion, I use references from the Jubilees to show the origins of "blood sacrifices" and how the blood sacrifices in Judaism's past were not legit, and I do the same to show how Christianity's communion as being the successor of the Jewish Passover sacrifice as not being legit as well. My friend, the Torah does change. What does not change is the 10 Commandments "set in stone" , as a symbol of being unalterable. Here is a good example Jer 7:22... "For in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to your fathers or command them concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices." If as you say, the Torah is eternal and does not change, then why this verse? Obviously, the commandments for sacrifices had not existed since eternity past. They were not given by God, they were enacted by Moses and tolerated by God (I'm talking only of blood sacrifices here using it as an example of a Moses made commandment). Regarding your reference of Gen 25:6, I must be using the wrong Bible, I don't see the connection between that verse and Noahidism. If you mean Gen 26:5, then it entirely supports the Noachide commandments, you simply have it backwards.... Noachide Law predates Mosaic Law by hundreds of years (whatever the timespan between Noah and Moses comes to).

Matthew's account aligns with Old Testament prophecies, emphasizing the fulfillment of God's promises. Micah 5:2 states, "But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah, who are one of the little clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days." This passage is interpreted as foretelling the birthplace of the Messiah, reaffirming the divine plan and the continuity of God's work through history. Moreover, the presence of the magi, non-Jews, signifies the universal nature of Jesus' mission, as reflected in Isaiah 60:3, "Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn." This inclusion of Gentiles from the start of Jesus' life highlights the global scope of salvation and God's intention for all nations to recognize and worship Him. The contrast between the magi’s reverence and Herod’s hostility illustrates human responses to divine intervention. Herod’s reaction aligns with the recurring theme of opposition to God's plan, yet God's purposes prevail despite human resistance, as seen in the Exodus narrative and throughout the prophets. Jeremiah 31:15 foretells the sorrow of Rachel weeping for her children, yet the broader context promises restoration and hope. In Matthew 2:13-15, the family's flight to Egypt and subsequent return parallels Israel’s exodus, drawing on Hosea 11:1, "When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son." This typology reinforces Jesus as the fulfillment of Israel's destiny and the embodiment of God's faithful love and deliverance. Ultimately, the nativity story in Matthew encapsulates themes of fulfillment, universality, and divine sovereignty. While scholarly debates on historical details persist, the theological message remains clear: Jesus’ birth fulfills ancient prophecies, extends God’s grace to all people, and exemplifies the triumph of God's redemptive plan over human opposition. In the name of Jesus Christ, I bless you all!
