I am reminded of when I first discovered the casting, I was not familiar with him but did not get the best first impression. In the books, Matthew, although a vampire, is compared to a wolf and I did not get 'wolf' from the photo I saw. He appeared to have a somewhat smaller build that I pictured and I didn't get a sense of Matthew's intimidation factor from him. I was also a bit salty that a British actor was cast in such a heavily French role. I couldn't have been more wrong, Matthew Goode is incredible in the role and I agree, unmatchable.

It will become publicly available in the US and 2019. I don't remember what month, though. Several channels will carry it including Sundance, and you can get the full line up if you go to the author's page. Deborah Harkness has been very much a part of the making of the show (something the actors have mentioned they like) and she's been a part trying to get people to air it in different countries. In the meantime, if you search hard enough you can sometimes find an episode in its entirety on KZbin BEFORE someone catches it and takes it down! I've been able to watch episodes 1 through 3 that way, but the episodes disappear rather quickly afterward. It airs on Saturday nights in the UK, so if you try to find it uploaded to KZbin on Saturday night (quite late) or very early on Sunday morning you might be able to find it before it's been removed. I'd also suggest reading/listening to the book, if you find books at all interesting. This is one particular case in which I very much I have enjoyed both the book and the story on the TV show, even when they have differed! Good luck!
