@JakesTakesTV, Pride & Prejudice with Matthew Macfadyen is from 2005, so next year it will be 20 years ago.😌

Wait until he watches Brian Cox in X2! Chilling villain. One of the best villains in comicbook movies in my opinion. No personal superpowers, just cruel. Great actor.
@Elwaves29255 ай бұрын
If he hasn't seen that, it makes me wonder if he's watched Manhunter, with Cox as the original Hannibal Lecter.

Small spoiler alert - when the credits first roll on Deadpool and Wolverine, they run clips and bloopers from most if not all of the Fox Marvel films. I was reminded of Cox as Stryker, and as a big Succession fan, I thought it was a great Easter egg. And, Matthew’s performance did remind me of Tom as well.
@Elwaves29255 ай бұрын
@@nelsonying2898 Yeah, I definitely saw some Tom in Matthew's performance.

Deadpool would definitely love Pride and Prejudice lol

Came here to say this. It would absolutely love that film. ESPECIALLY the beloved hand scene.

As someone who’s so deep into this franchise, it’s always jarring to remember the actors aren’t nearly as into it as the fans are and don’t have the encyclopedic knowledge we do
@BichaeldeAngelo4 ай бұрын
I don't really think the knowledge one of your primary coworkers for the last half decade was in the same franchise you're joining is encyclopedic lol But eh, who cares- an actor's job is to perform well in the role, it's a producer's job and the creative team to know the history. Most actors have little education anyway (though British actors are far more likely to actually study it as a craft)
@TheDan7445 ай бұрын
Danny Huston was another Succesion co-star who played opposite of Wolverine again as General Stryker in x-men origins: wolverine🤣

Yes! Glad someone else noticed this. I freaked the first time I saw those two actors together in Succession.

Macfayden's worked with some of the most talented directors including Ridley Scott, Joe Wright, Ron Howard, Lasse Hallström, John Madden and Michael Apted. His most memorable performances for me are in Pride & Prejudice, Succession, Operation Mincemeat and The Assistant.

There should be an interviewer asking Jake, “I’m a huge fan, how do you come up with questions that every interviewee compliments you with ‘that’s a great question’?”
@IsacMcLin5 ай бұрын
Macfayden will always be prior Philip to me! Love Pillars of the Earth.
@frankfurthe62825 ай бұрын
No hate, but these are always painful to watch when the actor is clearly not interested in the comic book culture (not that they have to be, just this line of questioning was tough imo)

Also Brian Cox played Hannibal lecter on the movie manhunters that focused on will Graham going after red dragon.
@cirkostalsia4 ай бұрын
A vivid example is that dramatic actors deeply do not care about comic book films, especially European ones. They have to play 2 roles-one in the film itself, and the other is the interest in it during the press tour.
