"It's not about us" - what an honest recognition of the millions of families suffering from addiction-loss, and a way to use their massive platform for good ❤

I agree. That statement really stood out to me.

Friends is one of those shows we just put on in the background - for the laughs and for the comfort. As I was watching this clip I realized that of all the people in this world Matthew Perry has probably made me laugh more than any other. So grateful for that. I wish for peace and restfulness for Matthew Perry and his family.

He is at peace with himself now and can be remembered for all the laughs he gave us. Hopefully the family can help others with addiction.

Very sad. I loved Matthew Perry. I feel so bad about the whole thing. I am so sorry for the whole family.

Savannah did an amazing job with this conversation. So much compassion and the way her voice cracked while speaking. My heart goes out to all who have lost loved ones to addiction.

From the account about the people who sold him the drug. I can't imagine the anger they feel about these monsters, one of whom was an MD!!

May he rest in peace, the peace that seemed to evade him on Earth. and I wish for peace and strength for his loved ones. They (he) are going to help a lot of people thru the charity.

Friends (1994-2004) is a show that will always bring one laughs when one needs them. Shocking it's been a year since losing Matthew, gone far too soon, especially within a year of Friends's 30th anniversary. RIP, Mr Perry, thank you for all the kindness and laughter you gave so many. Love to his family, friends and all those whose lives he impacted.

A lot of people think that $ and fame = happiness. Clearly it doesn’t. I’m by no means wealthy, but I identify with Matthew’s struggles. Thankfully, I’ve been able to overcome a lot of challenges. I’m still alone and very unhappy, but I’m grateful that I’m alive and have to opportunity to try to make things better.

Well, what do you know. I’ll be the one who dies first -Matthew Perry. (1969-2023)

My dad killed himself in 2021. A year later and to now? It is surreal. That pain never goes away. I go to sleep and i would literally be sitting next to my dad and then ill wake up and hits me. Some days i want to fake it and know it was the wrong person who called. Then reality hits. A year later, grief can help us spread awareness. They share their grief with addiction, and i share mine with depression. It is tragic, but we hope it can help others who are in similar situations to live longer. And know you are loved.

True, but this side of Matt's family is the one that is setting up a foundation to help addicts. The other side is not involved, so they were not part of this TV segment.

Why would they publicize this a year later?
@abbymarshall2505Сағат бұрын
Maybe because they've been too busy grieving their son and brother
@michellebaxterneedovey7103Сағат бұрын
The first anniversary would always gain a large amount of attention. Using that year to grieve, build the foundation and then speak so publicly is wise. I hope what they’re doing helps other families. It’s so desperately needed.

You are entitled to your opinion but when Matthew died he was worth $120 million and had been in one of the most successful TV programs of the 90’s. What have you ever done?
@alabaster193Сағат бұрын
It was his delivery and he often came up with some of his own dialogue. Plus, he was gorgeous and a sweetheart. One of the best comedic actors I've seen in my lifetime. So no. you're wrong.
