this is exactly why I absolutely love languages. I'm still young but I'm studying them right now at university and I'm now more sure than ever that it is what I want to do with my life! I speak 3 languages fluently (french, spanish and english) but I'm learning german in school and korean in my free time. You're so impressive, matthew! If I ever speak 5 languages fluently, I'll be so proud of myself... But you are out of this world! haha so talented! En passant ton accent est impeccable, c'est très impressionnant, bisous du Québec :)

Man, everything is true except “people really appreciate it when you speak their language”, which is true most of the time, but sometimes people take it as though you’re trying to show off. I live in China, and have luckily been able to learn it to a decent level of fluency, but the amount of people who were offended when I spoke Chinese to them is unreal - one woman said “No, don’t speak Chinese to me, speak English” although I had no clue she could even speak English considering she was a Chinese woman in China. Anyway, great video, man :-).

I am studying English and Spanish now and is amazing. I love to learn new languages, but the hardest part to me is the intonation of each language. How can i adquire this?
@CarolFerreira071
@CarolFerreira071 6 жыл бұрын
Watch a lot of TV shows, movies, youtube videos... just anything you can possibly watch. Although you should enjoy your time watching, don't forget to pay attention. The intonation is always very clear in the way they pronounce the words and how the sentences sound like. You can repeat some things you hear on the shows too, if you want. When I started learning English, I watched a lot of stuff and that helped me a lot to comprehend how the intonation worked, so that's my main advice. It will also help you to get used to the languages, which is a good thing if you expect to speak both languages fluently. :)
@anonymousinternetperson9068
@anonymousinternetperson9068 6 жыл бұрын
Gabriella Souza do Couto As a native English speaker I still had to google the word "intonation". Apparently you know more then me 😂. Just some advice though, normally in English we use the word tone, which I guess is the shorter version of intonation.

It helps your brain. The best "way" to learn languages is because you want to! If you keep it entertaining, at any cost, you should continue to work on it. If one makes it hard, the likelihood of learning it, is greatly diminished. Liking, or "loving," learning a foreign language is payment enough in the short term. One should get into what the society's like. Skype. Anki. Pimsleur. The Foreign Service Institute's website. These help.
