In this video, I discuss our need for clarifying creeds and confessions of faith. I will discuss the history of the development of creeds, and look more closely at one such example of a Reformation era confession, the Westminster Confession of Faith (1646/7)

I video on the changes made to the WCF would be interesting. The changes made regarding civil magistery that say the opposite of the orignal WCF to promote pluralism are declension.

I’ve grown up Southern Baptist my whole life and I attend Oklahoma Baptist University now, which typically, draws in many from either the SBC or more Reformer faiths. As I have begun attending church here the town OBU is located, one of the local churches I have come to love partake in quoting creeds and confessions every Sunday. Although I happen to like it quite a bit, another reason which I don’t remember you mentioning, that I hear from a lot of students is the view that “by forcing us to say the creeds and confessions, it makes me numb to what is trying to be said.” This is a rough paraphrase, of course, but it’s a view which I’ve heard from many, nonetheless.

Well, scripture is also commanded to read an exegeted in liturgy, does doing that numb those to who it is being read?

What do you also think about Calvin's opinion that it could maybe be a the wrong order because of his understanding of it?

Hi. Im a member of the CRC. We are also confessional. The creeds are a summation of the 12 articles of the Christian faith. All 12 articles are found in scripture. The person who ripped out those pages is NOT a Christian. Thx

Some people don’t like the creeds because of the phrase “catholic and apostolic church”. They don’t know the difference between catholic and Catholic.
