I'm bisexual and I've never felt fault in God's love. My sexual attraction has nothing to do with my relationship with God. There are awful-hearted people out there who will choose to hate their brothers and sisters but people who truly have God's loving spirit, they dont discriminate, they welcome. I've met so many people like that, so I want you to know there is hope in people where God's love is truly present as it is apart of one of His greatest commandments.

I am straight and also a Christian. I have seen so much hate from Christians toward the LGBTQ community, but those hateful few don't speak for the majority of us. Their voices may sometimes be louder because hate is such a loud emotion that often is spewed without any justifiable reason, but I sincerely hope that most other Christians love and respect our brothers and sisters with complete disregard to whom they love, because to do otherwise is simply foolish and not in any way Christian-like. You are loved. You are respected. And you are heard. Maybe not by everyone, but certainly by me and many, many others. I hope you're able to somehow make peace with God. He created you perfectly, and if being gay/bi was sinful He would not have created you this way. Much love to you, my friend.

A lot of people are questioning why they would dance on an altar in such unmodest clothing. First, most dance attire is tight to the body due to the fact that dancing requires the ability to move your limbs freely. Second, the dance isn't sexual, none of the behaviors shown in this video were inherently sexual in any manner. All of the movements were those of love and admiration. And 3rd, I don't know about other churches, but in my church the stage in the altar is a place of communication and expression. A place to talk to your fellow congregation and God. God made Adam , and he realized that humans need community to flourish. And then made Eve, he made humans naked, he made them skin and bones and muscles layered over one another. I think this dance was a beautiful representation of two men infatuated with each other and God. I see no misuse of religion, only two Faithful Men who found their soulmates in each other. ❤

When I was 4 years old I felt for the first time who I was, after 5 years I was put against from the church... when I was 12, I try to suicide. It's not about God. It's about what people manipulate saying who is God. Always when people say something in this line I know that I can prove to myself that I was born like that. Look all the possibilities that this universe can give us. Do u think that God is so small to create just one line of his love? He is more than our patterns and what our eyes can see. I trust in something high than just what bible says... we can't know all about Him, less than a fraction of a pale blue dot that we call earth... that for us is big enough, coz we can see, feel. Just God knows who he is and who he loves.

I wish every homophobic person could read this comment that you wrote. Bcz yes, we should believe in something higher than what the Bible says. I’m Christian. But from the Bible- I don’t think that everything about Him is there. A person wrote it, not Him, himself. I believe in Him but I along with that, I believe that he created more than one certain pattern of love. No one should say that God does not love who. He know who He loves. If you’re a homophobia person who reads the Bible, I’m sure you’ve come across something along the lines of”God loves us all”. If a gay person declares himself as a child of God. Believe me, He loves him/her.

Combining dance, acro, a gorgeous cathedral, and an incredible song, they’ve been able to put in visual terms a concept we’ve all battled/been faced with. Instead, of seeing a cathedral and feeling uneasy or unaccepted, for the first time I’m finally seeing a cathedral and feeling comforted and safe! Why do you write "G/d"? Are you afraid to write "God"? Like somehow you can talk about God and that's okay, but if you write his name you're being blasphemous? Is that it? Seems to me that abbreviating someone's name is still saying their name. Certainly God knows you mean him if that's who you're referring to. Wouldn't it show more respect to call him what he wants to be called instead of what YOU prefer to call him? Just asking.
@mattinthehat76034 жыл бұрын
@@jonathandough9413 I'm just wondering, but why are you assuming that my reason involves blasphemy or fear? Neither of those concepts are central in my faith. Also, if you've spoken to G/d and know what G/d prefers to be called, by all means please share. I write "G/d" because I respect G/d and I don't want the name to be written where it can be deleted or destroyed. I'm not afraid of "blasphemy," I just want to show my love of G/d in all my deeds. That is also the reason why I am answering you, when you clearly have a lot of biases you need to work on. I hope this helps! :)
@jonathandough94134 жыл бұрын
@@mattinthehat7603 Read better. I assumed nothing. I asked you a question. YOU are the one assuming things, accusing me of having "a lot" of biases which you tell me parentally that I need to work on. Please re-read my comment and list a few of the "biases" you assume I have. You fundamentalists are so touchy! Just asking a question makes you all defensive. And IF we DO think you're delusional to believe in angels, demons, devils, gods and sacred ghosts, we have "biases." If you look up "bias" it has to do with prejudice, which has to do with notions not supported by EVIDENCE. No problem worshipping any god you want, or spelling its name any way you want, but don't act like it’s the rest of us, those who believe in reality and evidence, who are biased.
@mattinthehat76034 жыл бұрын
@@jonathandough9413 The biases I was referring to are your biases as a result of being brought up with only an understanding of Christian beliefs. As a Jew, it is clear to me that you don't know what I believe at all. By the way, I am not a fundamentalist. I have no idea what gave you that impression. I am Reform Jewish. I'm not telling you what to believe. I am living my life according to the rules of my faith. I have never claimed that mine is superior to anyone else's, only that this video overlooks the context of the song in a way that I believe really devalues its meaning. I'm very sorry that you felt so offended by my comment. Please take up further concerns about Jewish faith with a rabbi or someone else who is more informed. While I love to spread information about my beliefs, I'm by no means the representative of all Judaism. Thanks :)
@jonathandough94134 жыл бұрын
@@mattinthehat7603 Hate to drag this out, but I'll address your confusion. Fundamentalism is a mind set. One of its earmarks is a quickness to be defensive. When I simply asked you a question, and even repeated, "just asking," you gave a reactionary answer and declared I had biases that I needed to address. I don't care how you write the word God, but hey, you say you are Reform Jewish, but just for the record, the consensus of the Central Conference of American Rabbis (a Reform Jewish authority), the primary prohibition against erasure of the name God applies only to the sacred names in a written text of Torah-in other words, when it's written in Hebrew, not in other languages or in electronic media. Of course you can write it any way you wish. But hey... be careful being parental with others and making assumptions about them. Seems to me you were the one doing what you claimed I was doing. Pretty sure I'd like you in real life, though.

I was raised Christian, and it is a very difficult struggle between religion and sexuality. I’m bisexual, and at the end of the day...for me, it made me question my religion quite a bit. I never hated LGBT but I knew plenty of people who did. At the end of the day, I left Christianity because it didn’t feel true to me anymore.

Me too, it's just the fact that both things are so important to you and you have to pick one of them.
@xoxarily5 жыл бұрын
For me personally, I’m still unsure about my sexuality (I’m either bi or a lesbian, I know that for sure) but Christianity was very close minded for me. So, I created my own perception and religion for myself. I believe there is right and wrong and doing something wrong will bite you in your ass, whether it be dead or alive. I believe you can love whoever you want as long as it’s consensual between both of you and that the other person is smart and old enough to make that decision ( nobody under the age of 18 or old that you can take advantage of them) I believe there is a higher being or power that sees, knows and hears everything, but can’t predict anything. I believe that this higher being created the entire world (space, planets, animals and plants) I believe there are no prophets or humans that can communicate with this higher being. I believe this higher being doesn’t control us and that we are responsible for our own actions I believe in the concept of Khama like Hindus, but definitely not reincarnation I believe we all have a purpose in life

Xarii Fernandes welcome to the concept of paganism 😂 where we all believe vastly different things 😂 I believe the same on love. I don’t believe any gods exist as individuals but I do use the images of specifically Celtic gods to represent different things in life and to focus on those aspects. I also believe that nature is the most important thing, and that we should treat it with respect and integrate ourselves into it, because the disconnect is why people don’t care if they hurt the environment. When you hurt nature, it hurts everything else, including you.

The setting, the music, the dancers, the choreography--all come together to celebrate love so beautifully and, if one wants to go there, so powerfully in glaring contrast with and complete rejection of the ignorant and hateful homophobia that still pervades much of this world. Thank you so much to everyone involved and for sharing this with us on KZbin.

I tell you something… This has got to be the most beautiful video I have ever ever ever seen… This is coming from a gay man..father of three grown sons and two grandchildren and I’m so far in the closet, there is no light to be seen and all I do is cry every night…this video was breathtaking! The dancing was fabulous, but I was more envious that they were able to amorously hug each other… I’d like to find that someday… Peace, everybody ❤

the sad thing is that Jesus loves and accepts everyone no matter your race, gender, identity, sexuality, etc. Where church falls short is that as humans we are all broken, we all have sinned, and leaders of churches sometimes don't appreciate that. Of course, myself, church and many others welcome anybody and anyone but, there is certainly some Christians that don't accept peoples life choices and are influenced by their worldly views, brokenness, hurt, guilt and shame that they feel, and reflect it towards the gay community. They act like Christianity is above others in some way. I am in full support of the gay community, my church is welcoming and accepting like many others but, there are the few with close-minded leaders who refuse to accept anything outside their cardigan Christian. It needs to change, the church culture needs to change, it starts with the one and turns into the many!

Homosexuality is not a sin, loving someone is not a sin. Just saying. I agree with you that the Church needs to stop preaching hate.
@roollie56844 жыл бұрын
Let me know when Jesus, whom apparently is the father son and holy spirit, ever said homosexuality is a sin. The problem with ALL Christian denominations are, they're all hypocritical. Everyone of them. Supposedly the old testament was the jealous and vengeful god, and Christianity throughout the centuries have picked and chosen what they will follow, and what they will explain away as old law, and god has changed. The new testament is supposedly what all Christian denominations actually follow. I call bullshitfuckery ( my apologies if I offended anyone with some meaningless words). For 2 reasons. 1) Luke 14: 26 basically says to be gods disciples, you pretty much have to abandon and hate your family. Lol guarantee no sheep or shepherd of this flock has done that. 2) Luke 18:22 Sell everything you have and give to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven, then come follow me. Lol this one is self explanatory, and we all know, the pope sits on a golden throne, and all others whom try to say they're Christian and going to heaven because they pray and have a great relationship with god. Bet ya almost everyone of you have multiple changes of clothes, have a vehicle, a bank account, furniture you like in your homes. See what I'm getting at? But there either will not be a response, or I'll be told I'm taking these scriptures out of context. So, no offense, but when any Christian says they are accepting of the sinners, and an ally or what have you, that's fine. But you support an institution that delegitimize 1in10 humans. You support an organization that is hypocritical when it comes to pointing fingers and calling ppl sinners, while at the same time literally picking and choosing the 'sins' they're going to condemn and which of gods laws they like enough to 'enforce.' Catholic church being the number 1 hypocritical business. I'm honestly not trying to be rude, I just found your whole statement, while lovely sounding and a good read, as hypocrisy.
@andrewlabarbara90724 жыл бұрын
Fcd rcn To keep it short: Jesus never said homosexuality is a sin, the church is just manipulating The church is separate from the base religion, which is truly about love and equality. You do not have to give up everything to be a good Catholic. Most of the Bible, even within the Gospels, is very extreme and as long as you follow the Golden rule, there is no reason to be upset about what you have.

What makes this unique, in my opinion, is how natural the movements are and the seamless transitions from on move to the next. Contrast the dance with the church which is often in conflict with sexuality. We get a simple, eloquent and loving rebuttal to church-based violence and religious intolerance.

Such a beautiful video Matthew 💗 There are stories that need to be told & messages that need to be heard & this is one. Choosing kindness & choosing love is words we should all live by...and more so when there are those who use fear, hate & ignorance as their weapons against those within the LGBTQI community. The music, the settings, the dancers, your vision all come together to create a moving heartfelt story, one that will foster discussion, win over heart & minds & speak to many a soul. Thank you Matthew for sharing this, thank you to the dancers and the entire team, you should all be proud of the work you have produced. Be proud, be heard, choose kindness, choose love 💗

Just stumbled on this. Stunning. You twist yourself around and turn yourself inside out, and then somehow you find someone that can love you. You learn to dance with each other and support each other, and then someone comes and tries to tell you that what you have isn't "good" or "right". Life can be so hard. If we are lucky enough to find someone to love us and love them in return, no one has the right to tell us anything about it at all. If we all followed the golden rule and treated others the way we wish to be treated, the world would be such a better place. No other doctrine needed at all. If you don't wish to be judged, dont judge others. So deceptively simple, but so hard to do.

@@morganolfursson2560 I 100% disagree, I think it is a testament to what God and Jesus are all about. Love.... I don't find it insulting at all and judging from the comments neither do many others. It's about choosing love over hate and accepting all as god made them. But only those who are not judgemental would see that.
@morganolfursson25605 жыл бұрын
@@piscesborn23 You have no idea what god or jesus are about or the other gods for that matter , nobody has ever talked to them (given that they exist) and lived to report it . The Church is like a massive multinational company and couldn't be further away to what god is . If god existed and if he or she had wanted churches i think he or she would have placed churches . I mean if it is great enough to create the freaking universe it is great enough to build churches . I see churches as buildings and i see the bible or any religious book as nothing else but books . But even as an atheist i respect the convictions of theists and i believe this is their place of worship not mine. Just like as a vegan i refuse to have any meat eaters in my house and will never agree to cook anything of animal origin for them . I believe that straight theists might not want to see two gay men dancing half naked in their place of worship and i do not want them to think of me (a gay man) as someone who find the idea of a gay ballet in a place of worship as something i condole , because i don't. There is a place for everything and just like i don't think that ballet has anything to do with religion , i also do not think that a church is a place we should appropriate . The christian church (not christianism) was never a gay friendly place and if a n very Straight institution , which i think we should leave to straight people . If us gays really want to worship god (whatever name we give him or her) , nothing prevents us to create our place of worship and have as many gay ballets as we want . But personally i prefer my kids to go with their grand mother (who is extremely religious) to a regular traditional church for a traditional christmas choral rather than to a gay church to see two men , or two women or a man and a woman dancing. If i want to watch a ballet i'll book a ticket at a ballet theater and it doesn't need to be gay . It just needs to be good . I would definitely book tickets for a gay ballet , but not in a church, first because i am not theist and second , for the reasons i just explained . What's next, a drag show in a church . I think that people who believe in god are about as delusional as people who have any issue with homosexuality . And since religion and places of worships have been the headquarters of most homophobic people on the planet , if we get rid of religion then we can get rid of churches and when those homophobic people have no more place to gather , we will get rid of them too. But until then, because i demand those homophobic people to respect me, i have to start by respecting them and not invading their territory so that i can expect them no invade mine and let me be , just like i let them be . You can't expect respect if you do not show respect first . I respect religious people and their convictions , even though i completely disagree with them , and in return for my respect i think i can gain theirs . The problem with the gay community is to try to force people to accept us, when in fact it is much smarter to not give them any reason not to do so .
