They put flair and humour into this in a manner even the best choreographers couldn't match - highly artistic renditions - simply loved it! If my hubby and I finally tried to do that, we probably both break our hips! When we first met on December 10, 1988, gay marriage was illegal, we’re still together, this December marks 31 years, and while we are legally a common law couple, I always wanted to get married, and would love to do a dance like these guys did, but now that I’m 50 and he’s 54, I think we’d have to have a paramedic standing by just in case! Thanks for sharing that dance guys, I wish both of you a lifetime of happiness together, and pray that you have as wonderful a life as my husband and I have had, and as the years go by, while the last may fade, the love become so deep, you essentially, one person, and you won’t be able to picture your life without each other, that’s what true love, means to me and to my husband. You’ll be amazed at how fast the time goes, it just seems like yesterday we were having our first date, as I sat there nervously waiting for him to show up, and in December two of us, plus our son, both of our families, Who don’t care that we’re same-sex couple, and loved us both exactly the same amount, will be basking in the sun, and will be officially and finally having an actual marriage, just don’t expect us to dance like that, to be that young again! Congratulations on this December’s 33 years. I was in the 10th grade when y’all got together, not long after my 15th birthday, and I remember thinking that with the AIDS Epidemic in full swing, there would be no way that gay marriage here in America would be legalized anytime soon, but I figured in a decade or so we’d be “allowed” to get married...but instead, 1998 was saying goodbye to Matthew Shepherd, which broke my spirit. Though the good news, in 2005, for my Northern neighbours filled my heart with love and hope...not for myself, but for our community and every new generation. Unfortunately, it would take another decade, but one week before my 42nd birthday, President Barack Obama announced that Americans like me, were finally seen as complete human citizens. I know that my time has passed, and my best years will be behind me in a couple of years, but just knowing that any future gays will grow up taking marriage for granted just like their straight peers will make me happy ‘cause they’ll never have to feel that sense of “less than” or “the other” with regards to the right to marry. #BabySteps Anyway, I hope u and Ur ohana are staying safe and healthy during this pandemic.
