I've been watching and enjoying Gary for over 25 years. Living in Pennsylvania he was on PCN (Pennsylvania Cable Network) during the anniversary days of the Battle of Gettysburg. He would team up with Tim Smith and Gary was even more "enthused" back then. They kind of reminded me of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. With of course Gary playing Jerry's part.

Great talk, Gary! The carriages on the Dahlgren Boat Howitzers, as odd as they look, are original; they were made to be easily transportable by manpower alone, without the horses used by the army's artillery outfits. As far as I know, that's exactly how the 71st New York got them to Manassas - hauling them on ropes. I'm glad to see that Fairfax County didn't squirrel them away, and that they're out in view as they should be!
