How about a timelapse where you follow the moving object with a fixed point. Like a moving boat. Similar to a clip in 0:31s in this vid kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX6cf6Nrq6t-f7cstart=31

In a more bizarre way there's those timelapses with portraits, similar to plants but you shoot the same person every day over years and it's quite fantastic to watch. Kinda useless, but cool :)

Great video as always! One question on the talking head clips. Your eyes are constanly in and out of focus, what camera did you use for this?
@MatthewVandeputte4 жыл бұрын
It's the Lumix, they really need to work on their video AF! I use it though because it has a better 4K codec than the 1DXII
@TeaJayPhotography4 жыл бұрын
@@MatthewVandeputte I used the Lumix G9 with Panaleica 15mm lens once for the talking head in one of my videos. Normally I record with G7 with MF as I would not trust it on AFC, but the G9 worked very good.

I was on a look out for some timelapse ideas and stumbled upon this video. Skip to 0:42 sec and see the barrel roll. Follow the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHOap6NupaeiaJI , Any idea what sorcery is that and how it's done? My guess is that its shot on a gimbal, the motion of the gimbal has been mirrored with the motion of the stars. Its a 360 camera. Hope I am not sounding crazy. But love to have your thoughts. Can we also add a 360 degree video time lapse to your list? That makes it 10

Yea, don't use natural light for plant timelapse. Lost a couple of hours with a macro timelapse of spider-mites on a rose. Clear sky and I thought the sunlight was pretty stable. It isn't.

SF to LA in one minute, seeing fingernails growing, a stationary person in a sea of moving people or my favorite, long exposures at night of moving cars. I'd like to see one that locks onto a moving object keeping it in frame while the stationary world and people move by. Like following a bus through the city.

I actually do these kinds of lapse I call "Time Squeezes" where you film in 60 or 120 fps and then squeeze every frame into 5-30 seconds after filming for an hour or more. Check out my whole 30 minute video of squeezes if you have a spare half hour. Lots of Holy Grail Squeezes as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/npaWoYagjbd3sMk
