As imposing and badass Matthias is on camera, every interview I see him give, shows what a humble, down to earth human being he is and also how great he is at talking about his life experiences, without embellishing it. He sounds like a very genuine and wise person that would be joy to be around

I actually ran into him (literally) on the set of Bounty Tracker years ago. An incredibly large an intimidating man. We both were walking around a blind corner in opposite directions near craft service. He knocked me down. I recognized who he was and thought he would just walk over me. He actually said "oh man, are you ok?" He reached down and helped me up (lol, no effort on his part), shook my hand and introduced himself. We talked for a few minutes and went on about the day. An incredibly nice man with a great heart. Definitely deserves all the good luck he can get.

Hi David Fantastic video I’m a sucker for 80s 90s action heroes Matthias Hues was One who was at the top of my list even to this day no retreat no surrender part two he was fantastic. And I come in peace and also kickboxer two the road back. They don’t make them like they used to those were the days my home cinema is full of these type of movies. I just recently bought I come in peace in 4k it’s been remastered got it from America he’s Had his up and down, but it made him who he is today It’s lovely to see him and doing well 👍

I remember being excited to watch No Retreat, No Surrender 2 back in the late 1980s on cable TV only to be very disappointed with the movie and how it was so different from the first. I didn't expect Van Damme to be back for the sequel, but I was expecting Kurt McKinney to reprise his character. That being said I did find Matthias Hues as Yuri to be quite mean and intimidating. His character in the movie (to me) saved the movie. All his fight scenes were brute-force, and the ending fight was awesome.

im always glad when these people finally land their dream jobs/passions in life. Rather we look at acting and hollywood as serious business or not compared to our everyday lives. Its their lives. their struggles. their stories..AND without all of them from the lesser known to the AAA actors we would have NOTHING to watch and enjoy..

Pure gold!!!! What a sweet, humble, and gentle giant this man is! Funny thing is I was watching the first movie I saw him in ever just last night "Blackbelt." He was so imposing and intimidating in there. Couldn't have been anyone better to pull it off with Don "the Dragon". I remember watching as a kid lol. Then going to karate class the next day. Wailing on big giant blonde kids that were imposing. Due to his performance in that movie. 😄😂😂 Felt you have to put more snap into it for them to feel you or they'll keep coming haha. They didn't do his character in Kickboxer 2 any sort of justice. Made him look weak, clumsy and just a brute on roids. Love this guy! He's so honest and realistic. With himself and other's. Great interview brother!

No Retreat No Surrender 2 was one of the better "sequels" although co star Loren Avedon played a differently named character in his 3. People forget King of the Kickboxers was NRNS4 and American Shaolin NRNS5. Hues Soviet villain was excellent in 2 and he's too hard on himself for "not knowing martial arts". His bruising fights looked real cause they were!
