I haven't done a lot of things with my air fryer but have found the best thing it does for me is steak and potatoes wedges. My fryer goes up to 450f, and a 3/4" steak will be perfectly medium rare and browned on the outside in about 10 minutes, while it is resting, I do the potatoes wedges, another 10 minutes at 450f and when they are done you have a delicious easy meal! I love it! Also, yesterdays pizza warmed in the fryer will taste close to freshly made.

I have a simple air fryer with no screen, just digital. It has some recipes on it that I never use. But mine does not have water ability and probes. Those two things add alot of value to the end product. And if you cook quality stuff in air fryer like lamb racks etc and given that the air fryer probably will not break within at least 5-10 year. What is 150+ one time extra for a decent air fryer that you will probably use several times per week? $150/(12x10). I mean, it's not even a cost in the end to even think about.

We love our air fryer over here in Scotland... for many things you don't need to fire up a big oven and its so versatile. It's not a feature rich as this one but it was very cheap, maybe about £50 ($60) and cooks things way faster than an oven and in most cases you can just load in there, set a programme and/or timer and walk away...

How is it to clean up? And maybe you’ll be the only one who could appreciate this, but, what are your thoughts on the cooking exhausts and humidity flying past that fan above the heating element? Not sure what other people think about in this regard

so far no issues, but we used ours less than 20x so far. The fan would need quite a layer of gunk to become ineffective, and I would guess, being so close to the heater, and spinning, that it would fling the grease off itself if there was much of it.

Love making cauliflower in our air fryer! Break it up, add oil, pop it in, give it a shake a few times and when it is browned, it's done. So good. Perfect side for steaks, chops, burgers, etc cooked on the grill. Ours isn't that sophisticated, just a temp dial and a timer, but it does a decent job on meats when it is too cold/snowy to grill. Unlike an oven or toaster oven, the timer and cool to the touch outside allow us to be comfortable with our young teen using it when we aren't home. The biggest complaint I have is ours is just too small, yet too big at the same time. Can't fit enough food for 4 in it at once, but takes up a lot of counter space. Make me a double basket model that replaces my range hood (include a vent fan) and I'm sold!

It is very fast cooking for the most part.

I have a basic air fryer and I use it a lot. Try fresh non frozen hamburgers, they are delicious when you cook them with the air fryer, 10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (356F) and they are done, good color, nice bite, and still super juicy. Pretty much any type of meat will do. Fish, chicken, I even cook shoarma or kebab with it. And it all tastes great, and if you want you can get it nice and crunchy while the meat is still very juicy at the inside. And yes it cooks truly fast. That requires a little learning curve. But once you tried several things you know how long to cook it. My basic machine also has simple instructions written on it so that I can set the temperature correctly for the type of meat that I am going to cook. I follow those instructions and that works great for me. And the basket fits inside the dishwasher.

I bought a basic one and I’ve net exactly found it convenient. It doesn’t have and inbuilt return paths, so if you fill it so that there’s a layer of fries, it basically just acts as a clumsy broiler. Turn everything every 4-5 minutes and it works fine, but it’s not great. Not sure if it’s any faster really. The newer ones with a rotisserie, racks, and the ability to dehydrate look a lot more worth the counter space, but by that point I’m not sure that you’re saving all that much compared to an oven, so the selling point gets wonky.

for cooking hamburgers, I think you might want to look into a "George foreman" or a contact grill. it cooks both sides of the burger at once making for a faster cooking time. the smallest size is a bit too small unless you only want a single burger there are also better electric grills that will snuff the smoke so it won't set off the fire alarm, those would be good for a dorm or small apartment.

Saw this on sorted food as well, it seems for once it's a kickstarter that isn't just a shameless cash grab. The temperature probe is the real deal here, giving you full control of how done you want the meat. I miss that in my Xiaomi air fryer.

I have one myself. For me it's basically a smaller, economic oven. Particularly if you don't have gas. And you can put mine in the dishwasher

SortedFood also recently did a preview of this on their channel for those interested in another take, or seeing some other foods tested. No graphs though.

It's just a convection oven. My opinion is just to get a toaster oven with convection feature and then you get all of the features with one device.

Great video, I’m really curious about the water and potentially baking breads, since steam injection ovens are rare and quite expensive. Air fryers are essentially convection ovens, and I prefer the toaster oven shape for loading so personally ended up tabletop convection oven more like your toaster oven, but this seems like a great product for those that like this form factor.

It doesn't have a bread mode, and the water injection only happens in the automatic programs. But I don't think this would work all that well for bread. The heat comes from the top, and if the pan was full of dough, the bottom wouldn't get enough heat.

I made small buns in my air fryer, and with the hot air circulating underneath, they came out very well. I also have 2 spray bottles: oil and water to use as needed.

When the grease drips and burns it produces smokey goodness, which is where the real flavor comes from. Air fryers are rad and all, but you can't beat smokey grill flavor.
