Holy crap... so many things in extremely good condition and dirt cheap too. It's insane. Here in the US at least where I live there's nothing like this at all. Any of the small retro shops will charge a LOT more for any games in good condition, and if it includes a good case and manual, don't even ask, you can't afford it. If I ever go to Japan I will definitely blow so much money on retro games and maybe even some consoles. No idea how I will bring them back with me.
@MattFinds
@MattFinds 2 жыл бұрын

Great vid! It's pretty cool to see so many retro consoles in great condition. One question I've been wondering is if you're able to test the console at the store before committing to buying it. Interested in picking up a PS3 in Japan but I know some of the earlier models have manufacturing defects.
@MattFinds
@MattFinds 2 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. Usually, they don't allow people to test the console at the store, but you never know. You can always ask the staff and maybe one of them will be nice enough to do it :)

I discovered hard off in Matsumoto of all places. My wife and I were stuck in a traffic jam and saw the sign. We had a giggle at the silly name and decided that as we weren't moving we would go and check out what hard off was. Imagine the look of horror on my wife's face as she realised that she would lose the next three hours of her life while I rummaged through second-hand paradise. We then stopped at every other hard off we passed. You're right; the best ones are remote. We went to the one in Ueno a few years later and it wasn't great.

Hello Jan, Unfortunately, you cannot play european games on old Japanese consoles. The games are usually regions locked. Games are region locked to 4 regions. NTSC-JP (Japan), NTSC-UC (USA, Canada, Mexico, etc), PAL (UK, Europe, Australia, NZ, some other countries) and NTSC-CH (China).
