Absolutely Mike, it works great with small percussion and shakers, and its super easy to setup. 😄You can obviously do the same in arrangement view by looping clips (that feature various even / odd) lengths. But in Clip Launch view its quicker to get going with these type of polyrhytms. Glad u enjoyed the video. Appreciate the feedback 🙏🎸🥁🍿

Thank you, yeah totally a nice simple way to infuse some life into stale rigid rhythm backdrops. 👌🥁😄

If you set several clips to Play Random and differ their repeat times then you get even more exotic melodies and rhythms.

I love polyrythms, but it's often difficult to use them in a relevant way. Thanks for sharing this inspiring beat !

Awesome! Thanks. 🙏 Absolutely. I’ve mostly used them for these kind of evolving backdrops with shakers and small percussion (behind) a more solid foundation of 4 or 8 bars. That way it’s not too obtrusive, but helps to create a deeper more interesting sound narrative. If it’s too much in focus it may indeed become hard to compose / jam into something useful. Tool is a practicle example of polyrhythm in da face 😄🥁 great drummer by the way 👌

@@MattiasHolmgren haha yes, I never fully understood the mid section in Lateralus, when the hi-hat starts living its own life but somehow reconnect with the kick. Still mindblowing 20 years later !
