Underdog Electronic Music School

If you're not a percussionist, you might find it challenging to add rhythmic interest to your drums and synth riffs. Let's look at 3 simple rhythm concepts that can get you started!
We cover:
1) Dotted patterns
2) Euclidian rhythms
3) Polymeters
And we apply these not only to the note position of rhythmic riffs, but also to the ACCENT within those riffs.

As a mathematician, I was wondering why the name “Euclidean”. As soon as you explained, it became obvious that it comes from the Euclidean division algorithm, the very basis of arithmetic. It was really nice to see it applied and that it produces such nice patterns!!! Thank you for the video.

this is an extremely meaty, extremely thoughtful review of some critical rhythm concepts i've struggled to put names against. while i understood the gist of the ideas upon listening, and knew when i found them, the application for me has been haphazard as i did not understand the principles. really excellent work, along with all aspects of your channel.

Nice video ❤ As a live only producer (i produce with external gear only) I remember how I go by the gut instinct to create rhythm, melody, climaxes, and finally to finish the track. It’s not really something you think at, it’s a feelings that just fallows, and the hands follow that when operating the gear, but I guess is same with the daw production, when you get a certain experience you just fallow your instinct, you’re relaxed, you have fun, music making shod be very easy, ❤

As despicable as these scoundrels are, you should absolutely be flattered! Con-artists, scammers, "managers", they ALL rely on REAL TALENT... to pull off their little childish schemes... because they themselves have no real talent, other than the drive to feed off others like the leeches they are! To those who want to ensure they aren't deceived, notice how there is a grey bar around Oscar's username? That is how you ensure the commentor is in fact the channel creator themselves... Plus, we should all be pretty clear on what Oscar's intentions are in teaching us his wisdom and expertise 😎

I’m going back into all of your bassline videos. I’m trying to make some house basslines that sound older than I am, and I know the trick to stay true to the limitations of the time period is to stick to 16th notes, same with the tr909 drums. I need to continue just doing more things and making more, and hopefully find and create some fun movements between the drums and bassline
