Great, it's a simple layout of parameters on the Granulizer of FL Studio 20. But it's a very powerful plugin. You reach awesome sounds very fast. Thanks for watching & writing Csaba!

Flume uses granular synthesis ... also, I'm certain Lorn uses it. Definitely worth mastering the art, I say.

Indeed, granular synthesis is used all over the place in music prod. One of my fav sound exploration methods.

I agree with you comment about natural sounds with imperfections - much better then purely synthetic sounds.

You're the first one I saw using a graphics tablet with FL Studio, how do you get with it? Is it more usable for a DAW than a mouse, in your opinion?
@MattiasHolmgren
@MattiasHolmgren 4 жыл бұрын
Ergonomics! ;D I think the tablet is an excellent tool for editing music. I work in both development, design, music and sound design and when editing for long hours the tablet really helps the wrists, shoulder, neck etc. I made a video - Work Smarter In The Studio - where I talk about why I am working with a tablet: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aajVo3uXltitnas

@@MattiasHolmgren Thank you for the answer. I also work in development and video productions, and of course I've a lot of colleagues using graphics tablets (especially for compositing), but I never used one myself. My main doubt using them with DAWs was about the precision when controlling virtual knobs and faders, but I guess it's not really different from dragging a mouse on them, plus there's the ergonomics factor as you pointed out.
@MattiasHolmgren
@MattiasHolmgren 4 жыл бұрын
Yes sometimes faders and knobs do behave weird on some software. But I dont feel thats happening too much these days. I guess most software have over come this issue today.

Hey Matthias just a quick question. When I load a sample into the Granulizer and try to make a riser say over 4 bars, as the sound goes on the sample is triggered from a later point in the sample until by the end of the 4th bar it’s only the tail of the sample being triggered = no sound. Automating the hold button to keep the sample playing from the initial transient seems to be a workaround but on other videos on the Granulizer no-one appears to have to do that. I have the loop function activated, I feel like I’m missing something 🙁
@MattiasHolmgren
@MattiasHolmgren 4 жыл бұрын
Hey! ;) Did you try to replicate what I do in this Granulizer video? If so you should see what parameter does what. How do you set the play speed? Set a really slow speed (Wavespacing) so your playhead doesn't move so fast. Wavespacing in negative will move the playhead backwards. IF you set it to positive it will move forward. ;) The more you increase it, the faster the playhead moves. Hope it makes sense and solve your issues my friend! 🌞
@BigStevo1
@BigStevo1 4 жыл бұрын
Mattias Holmgren Thanks Matthias, it’s the wavespacing setting that was my issue. I had it moving too quickly through the sample so it was granulating the sample tail. It’s a pity FG won’t let you set an end time as well as a start time. I guess it’s a case of chopping the sample in Edison so that the tail is gone. Gradually getting my head around it with your help, and it’s much appreciated:)

What midi keyboard were you using??

In this video I was using a silly small M Audio Keystation mini 32, just because its such small on the desk. Nowdays I mostly use the Arturia Keystep 37 which is slightly bigger, but better keybed. Excellent when doing videos and I want the Wacom for general editing.

While it is extremely portable. The mist portable IMO. Its not that accurate, but hey I made like over 100 videos with that keyboard in it. 😂☀️🥳 Keystep 37 weights a lot more.
