What about a wireless piano, like put solenoids or something connected to a raspberry pi(with a driver board, it will explode the raspberry pi otherwise) and have a midi keyboard connected to a computer and send data over a web-socket. That sound pretty interesting, but its probably going to be pretty hard to do everything, like programing, making the solenoids hit the keys, and wiring all the solenoids to the driver board.

Maybe if you gave your human targets some more padding or armor to dull the pain, they may be able to sing in tune. The paintball hit would then just be line a tap on the shoulder to indicate to them to sing. Otherwise when the pain exceeds some threshold, most people would default to their natural outburst of pain expression and there is no point in having a choir as the targets.

Well you already have a piano that boasts paint, so you could sort of make a mechanical version maybe with a giant scrolling piece of paper and the guns being loaded with specific colors? use this to "paint" a melody onto a wall of, idk, a music school or other building. You'd need to line all keys into a single horizontal line and add a gimmick to aim them like 2cm higher at each keystroke. Then paint a keyboard on the bottom on the wall and you could do musical "graffiti" at several times the effort of just painting it by hand with a normal design!

You REALLY should have lowered the speed of the paintballs... IF you got all the gear from a paintball field, you should have also had access to a chronograph. 280 feet per sec or 85.3 meters per sec is max for many ranges where I live, and you can get away with far less if you are only shooting a few meters... Then your targets would have been more willing to participate for longer, and would not have been bloody messes either. I have played paintball for awhile and gotten a few bruises and welts, but never that bad from that distance... those are point-blank sort of welts. You were basically abusing them.
