With the functioning aperture ring, it might be very well suited to the Zf body!

For people who shot with the 50mm 1.8D lens (full frame) on an aps-c sensor with DSLRs and then switched to full frame mirrorless.. this is the only option with autofocus thus far on Z mount. 75mm is unique and definitely has use cases where it’s needed. Cheers Matt

i do a good bit of work with TTArtisan here in south africa, our copies only arriving in a week or two, as a budget option its going to be something I can easily recommend to students as well it makes for a lovely workshop lens at 75mm

Fantastic Andrew, I agree a wonderful lens for students in both Z and e mount. How exciting you work with TTArtisan, what sort of projects do you collaborate on? Cheers Matt

@@MattIrwinPhotography for them i do a couple things, i some times alpha test lenses that have not been released yet, like with the 35mm f1.8 had that for a while before it got announced, i also run workshops to showcase the lenses that they produce, i also help create content for the south african side to help drive marketing and sales, as example 2 weekends ago i had the miss teen SA people for a beach session using only the TTArtisan gear for everything we did, the more eyes we can get on the product the better 3rd party lenses will do in the market, even more so when you can see a clear move from them to create better quality optics at decent value for money price points, which works awesome for the students i work with who all fall under the extremely low income area, so they get free education from me and as a plus they can now also get access to decent alternative lenses, it's a win win for all sides

@@MattIrwinPhotography with TTArtisan in south africa I mainly help with creating content and things like that, I also test lenses that have not been released like with the 35mm F1.8 got my copy for testing a good bit before it was released, I like them a good bit as the importer and official distributor is a camera company that I have known and worked with for a long time , i also run work shops featuring lenses from them which works rather well due to the low costs of the lenses that they produce, more so since they actually put in some thought and work into creating the lenses that they create mind you i have replaced 95% of my lenses with TTArtisan lenses, I like the way they render details as well since I normally manual focus anyway I never had any complaints, the auto focus versions work decent for the price point as well, absolutely a steal for the money you spend and what you get normally, making it supper easy to recommend to the students I work with, my students all come from areas where money is hard to come by, so I provide them with free education and with TTArtisan and a couple other camera companies it allows me to also get them the gear they need to properly start without breaking the already tiny bank

I luv My (2) Z50's (they have their uses for Me n often give Me fantastic images) different tools for different jobs :) There is a Pro Photog in Australia (Newcastle , last name) I have seen recent photos (of his) taken with one of the D5000 style Nikon cameras (Super Nice Photos),,, He is a very good (proficient) Photog. I am guessing but I believe he is in our age group :) ..... When I started My Pro Career in 1969 I used predominantly a 24mm or 105mm on My Nikon F (trying to be different) Although the lens in question (75mm f2) may be considered a (budget lens) I would bet that it would be sharper than the 105mm lens I used (n still have)...... Let us all try to be happy n nice to each other ,,,,,, Good Shooting to You My Friend :) :) :)

Seems like a good lens at a good price and it’s on the maybe list, as is the Nikon 85. I’m waiting to see what the higher spec yet to be released Viltrox 85mm 1.4 pro lens is like before making a decision however. And thanks for the editing tips.

You have never used a 75mm Lens ?.... I have a Vintage Voigtlander f2.5 manual focus .... if you would like to test it and look after the lens I would send it to you for a test ,I have not used this for a while however in the days of film it worked very well. If you would to test it let me know

Man, this is incomparable to the old cheapo primes of yesteryear.. I would've paid a fairly good chunk of money back then for something like this. For this price it's almost a no-brainer.

I have both. They are not really comparable. One is a fully auto Z mount lens, the other a fully manual lens requiring an adapter with a quite extreme vintage look.

Don’t think you are seeing what I am. Buy cheap get cheap. You said 85mm sometimes too long, don’t agree if you use a prime lens then be prepared to step forward or back or crop.

@@MrPawnyou you shouldn't blame someone's ignorance strictly on their age. I'm not going to blame your ignorance on your youth and inexperience. Your right about chinese optics punching above their price point. They having been doing it with red dot sights for weapons for close to a decade.

Thanks for your thoughts Larry. The chapters are there. The journey is up to you. KZbin is interactive online content. As you did not stay to understand the value of this video, how do you know if 10 mins is correct for this piece. It would be disappointing if all KZbin vids ended up being similar. I always appreciate feedback, and will continue experimenting with timing, music, editing and style as that is part of the KZbin journey for the creator. Cheers Matt
