Every drummer needs to watch this. Inevitably we will find ourselves in situations where we need to set up and tear down fast. Having a system that achieves speed without compromising our gear is a must. Thanks for posting this.

Memory locks are 100% the most critical piece of gear. It's mind bottling to me to see them using gaff tape. Hopefully that is temporary.

I would love to see a designated video about all the little tips / tricks / gear you use and recommend. It’s really interesting seeing your set up process for big shows like these. As a working drummer myself I love learning more efficient ways to set up and play since I don’t have a great crew like this. Keep up the great work!!

These videos are very cathartic and engaging for me. Having been a gigging drummer before, watching an expert go about their work is inspiring, but also provides an interesting sense of comfort and companionship in seeing someone else go through setting up and tearing down a kit. And, of course, nerding out over drum gear! Thank you for the work that goes into what you do, and these videos!

Love it Matt. I always pick up little tricks from your tech videos. I’ve never truly been in a position to be a drum tech, nor needed one myself as I’ve always mainly played in bar bands. That’s slowly changing? I’ve been playing with Rick Redington in Vermont for 6 months . Very cool guy. Great music and vibe. He’s been on the map for a long time now. I sent your last tech video to a friend that’s my tech in training. He will get this one as well. He isn’t a musician what so ever, but has a very deep application for music. He’s very mechanical and detail oriented. I won’t need him often but I’m getting him dialed in. Have three shows coming up with three bands in two states in two days. This guy will be MVP. I have a Face Page, Osborn Percussion if you care to follow.

I will say, I used to work at a venue til last year as the house LD, but the little things such as you remembering Sid's name, goes a long way. That kit finish was also a Dixon finish believe it or not a number of years ago. They had a few different color varieties that were insanely beautiful in person. The depth of it is stunning. The snare drum looks like the fat spruce variety of S.L.P. Lastly a tip for the audience : The cleaning of cymbals does change their sound so remember if you're happy with the way your cymbals sound and they are "dirty", don't clean them! Keep doing you Matt ty for taking us along with you

I can't believe I just watched two back to back drum tech videos, for a total of almost two hours . . . and was glued to every damn second. I even rewound them *numerous* times whenever I saw something nifty that I needed to remember for my own setup. I should have taken notes. (Branden Steineckert built a block/backstop thing for the front of his riser so the bass drum would stop trying to escape, ha.)
