Took a KZbin/internet break for 2 months (highly recommended) ... Haven't checked out Matt's channel in a little bit, and I'm greated by this masterpiece. I imagine maintenance is a full time job, but this is probably the nicest looking backyard trail build I've ever seen. Actually, that the backyard out of that last sentence. Matt I would like to suggest something. Decrease the bowl's/berm's angle to make it more mellow(sort of like a sharkfin). That way even if you loose speed you will still be able to pump the bowl.

For the next feature, you should try to make a left 180 burn, then you would have to make a little jump back over the line. I know it sounds confusing and a bit technical but imagine how sick that would be. You would go down after the wall ride then straight to left 180 burn to jump back over the line to continue the pipeline. Also you would probably have to remove some of that bushy tree to make it work(I think).

I got an idea…maybe after the jump over the bridge, instead of a quarter pipe you use the existing lip to make a step up onto the plateau. Then maybe a right hand berm to carry speed so that you can jump into hip landing straight. Carrying enough speed for the wall ride.

Really technical, but you could build a quarter that’s thinner to alleyoop and come back on itself or make it wider to air normally, then you can add a 270 berm to throw you back down the line the correct way for the next features. If that makes sense Berm will be more of a spiral upwards with the gap to enter obv

@Aarongla552 жыл бұрын
Matt, make the takeoff less steep so you can go forward into the berm more and transfer the speed better. Also, if you can get enough speed make the next feature a 360 berm up and around the tree on the other side of the pipeline. you could hammer this berma and gain so much speed to fire out the other side.

The next feature I thought would be awesome to be almost like a spiral because with all that speed it could be amazing - kind of like what you made at the bottom of the last line, but more of a complete spiral - it would loop up and do a 270 and then you could drop back down over the start facing the correct direction to still keep going - definitely a 150 wheel barrow job though :)

Could be called "The spit", in surfing it's the gush of water that 'spits' out of a barrel and shoots you out like a gun when you escape the tube. It would also link to pipeline. Other ideas - Carve as you're hitting the Highline and carving around the top. or re-entry
@SecretSpots2 жыл бұрын
Matt - Longtime surfer here. In surfing a wave that breaks heavy and hollow, quickly, from out of deep water onto a shallow rock or reef shelf, is called a "Slab". This feature has a slab in the middle. Call it a slab. ALSO - for the next section after try to make something that goes under the upper/left side of that big tree like a tunnel!

I dont know if it makes any sense or if it would be possible, but a little baby corkscrew that 180s back into a drop over the landing of this new wallride that heads back down the 'ravine' would be sick 🧐
@scottydont2904502 жыл бұрын
I still think that first section is just begging to be turned into a full dirt halfpipe! It'd solve the problem of needing to be so precise with the landings to avoid the banks and Ben would ride that SO HARD! You could also build a jump / drop in where you had your "cheat line" for an easier and less technical way to enter into The Pipeline.
@smithin97252 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking when they first started making this line. Long as dirt half pipe would be sick there! But I think that would require a lot more work because they would need a shit ton of the good dirt

Nice work. I'm digging in the woods behind my house as you have been so inspiring with your builds. Never thought I would start a new spot again at 53. And the landing off the quarter isn't steep enough- you can't pump into it travelling that far back with it being only that high. Make it a huge radius that means you can pump cleanly through it and you won't be too g'eed out going into the next takeoff. That will give you more landing and a safer landing. You could probably make it 2.5m or 3m like a vert ramp.

That teaser was epic! Well done lads! Now to the next feature… build a wall ride utilising that tree as a post. The speed you’ve got is mental so it could be a nice jump to 4mtr wall tide to drop. Otherwise (now this could be difficult to explain) -build a sizeable quarter pipe using dirt/ timber up the tree with the run up in a straight line towards the tree. This will require a seperate line…. So you can get plenty of speed coming into the gully, up the quarter (into a 180 etc) then back down the same way with a slight variation into a big trickable jump. - the pipeline will then be able to have a jump over the quarter pipe (similar to Jamie’s line)

Here are some possible adjustments for the pipeline... Make the hip/quarter pipe take off and landing very steep so you carry lots of speed instead of throwing it into the hill. Next adjust the berm jump to be lower and longer however you can manage, this will allow you too keep your speed. After that will be low speed features so maybe something to jib on like a stump or log. Also sweet vid.

Matt, after the new feature,you should build some sort of step up with a manual/nolly pad thing,so you jump up,you have the platform sloping slightly upwards,then jump again off that to the top.keep going straight off the newest landing,so that you are building between the two trees.this way it takes you back up and out of the half pipe,you could either have rollers afterwards to build speed again,or if it has another downhill you're back into free speed for the rest of the line.
@archie52342 жыл бұрын
