The new Road Glide rocks! Not only the suspension. Just when I thought I don’t need a new Harley Davidson this new bike jumps in my head! I can’t shake it off! 😂

Thanks Matt! I just bought a 2024 SweetGlide! Yes I said SweetGlide haha. That was something I definitely needed to get familiar with! I will be sure to adjust it when I go two up and tour packin!

Absolutely love mine Matt! If the preload is set on this suspension the ride is superb. Best factory HD suspension i have ridden ever.

Nice video. Dealerships should just make those part of the initial purchase price experience. When your shelling out $25k-$52K for a new ride, this should be done for free.

Great video and information. Something to keep in mind. Over miles and time the right side will pick up grit and dirt in the threads. Clean them before adjusting them. The threads are very fine and forcing the adjuster nut and lock ring could damage the threads.

very informative ! it's amazing how dealers don't pass the information to buyers... I have a couple of friends recently bought a 2024 and they have no clue about the suspension adjustment and infotainment systems . Good to see your video's and share this ! too bad I live eastern Canada to visit you guys !!!

Excellent! Thank you Matt! I did not know that the shocks on the regular 2024 RG/SG are different from the 2024 CVOs. The 2024 CVO shocks have a rebound setting as well.

3" is a 50% increase in travel?..and i have to use a spaner wrench to adjust?.. Everything else Harley did upgrading the 24's is a plus..but really a wrench??..I have ESA on my Transcontinental..just sit on it and it automatically adjusts solo, partner and or luggage...the main reason i didn't buy one.. don't think u should have to upgrade a part which should come std at that price tag.. Appreciate the video 😊

I find the solid mount heim joints on the ohlins offer a rigid ride. I was really comfortable on the stock suspension until I installed the aftermarket set up, it’s consistent on the rebound and gives a great response input. My personal favourite is the cornering rigidity. Love the channel,great content Matt!….. This just goes to show not every Harley needs cash to be better just some time patience and the proper set up for riding styles.

I find the suspension on the 24s are really great for solo riders at 1 rider weight setup. The issues are its far too harsh for 2up. I guess what im trying to say is once your carrying significant weight use the weight suggestions as a suggestion

I just bought a R1250 RT "road touring" motorcycle with ESA. It's nice to have electronic self adjusting suspension. It just works. Kinda hurt, letting the HD go. Try a GSA instead of a Pan America, sometime. Get some exposure to broaden your horizons.

Great video and I have the 2024 needed to do the same thing. I love my dealership and in conversation with the owner I said you know I almost didn’t buy this because of how it rode and she really talked about how we need to share it with you and/or make sure we fit you before you leave kind of to your point. Quick question, are those bag stands a Harley product, looking for some

Thanks for the videos. I like the info you’re putting out. Question though, is there a way on these new 24 models to remove the speed limiter without using an aftermarket tuner? I don’t wanna void my warranty but 102 after the software update won’t let me keep up with the friends I ride with. Haha

Matt, great video, even though I don't have a 2024 bike yet, I still watched it for future reference. Related question: I have a 2022 Road Glide Special and I recently bought and installed the HD Screamin' Eagle/Öhlins Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks (to be honest, mostly because I like the way they look). So here's my question (hopefully it's not a dumb question): where would you suggest I go if I want to have someone adjust them properly for me? I have looked at the owner's manual and several KZbin videos, and It's just not making sense to me. I'm kind of a new rider (been riding for only 3 years) and I don't really understand preload, compression damping and rebound damping. Again, love your videos, I'm a big fan of your videos, especially your road trip ones, hoping to see you guys up here in Seattle some day. I've even been down to Laidlaw's 2 years ago and met you and some of the guys.

Great video Matt Did you happen to do a video on the 24 infotainment center? Gotta 24 CVO Legendary Orange delivered yesterday and after spending several hrs with it I got frazzled , yeah but come to find out in aux mode the volume on the radio would only let me go about a quarter of the way up in volume! My son came home from work , started the bike and then the volume would go up and down w/o being regulated.Did you know this?

Stock shocks are built to accommodate a wide range of riders. They are also not the best quality. Although you may be able to tweek the ride comfort, nothing compares to shocks built by a shock company that are built for a specific rider.

Matt, I think you have the measurement wrong. The book says from the top of the top ring to the bottom of the bottom ring. Not the space in between. That's probably a 3 or 4 mm difference. That's the way I read it...
@scotttarentino6892
@scotttarentino6892 Ай бұрын
Matt has it right. I just picked up my new RG and I will say the way they word it is confusing but it's the space between the rings. It states "the distance from the top of the adjustment ring to the bottom of the lock ring". The adjustment ring is the bottom one so the top of that to the bottom of the lock ring, which is the top. Would've been easier if they just said "the open space between the two rings."
@BobinNH
@BobinNH 6 күн бұрын
@scotttarentino6892 yeah I totally agree. I adjusted mine a little more than the book says fir my weight. I gotta say, I love the the suspension. Maybe next year I'll think about upgrading it. A legend suspension would definitely be a worthy upgrade. I'm riding it for a year before I do that. Heck, I haven't even touched the exhaust yet. That , I'll probably do in rhe Spring.
