Matt, have you looked at FMRS? it encompasses your method of quicksaving and loading for landing boosters, but allows you to recover the boosters too, by adding the seperated booster back to the main save after landing.

Whenever i do vertical propulsion landings i set SAS to radial out and then you can make fine adjustments using wasd to cancel out any horisontal velocity

pro-tip, switch stability assist/retrograde for radial out when you are below 100 m/s. That way, if you kill your velocity too early, you won't translate as much and it will be easier to recover. You can also kill translation with rcs in docking mode while pointed radial out.

The physics in KSP is so good. Those prototypes flew, fell, crashed, and landed almost identical to the real life Starship prototypes.

When you are coming in to land, click Radial Out instead of Stability Assist. It’ll keep it upright and you’ll still be able to control it

Radial out as you approach the ground is a much safer way to land pointing straight up. Even helps when you accidentally start going up again.

I use my rudder pedals for my flight Sims to control my rear flaps and use the pitch commands to control the nose cone fins. I've been bale to glide it and begin to fly hopefully will start my own ksp channel soon 😂

383 also matt you need to do pre flight tests like static fire cryo proof test ambient pressure tests you also need alot more prototypes and i mean alot more you also need test tanks a tank farm construction site making parts and rings and engines separately like at another location and then bring them like with a car or truck and then stack the parts if you can in game hopefully and have aborts and more but nonetheless you did good
