Excellent lecture! GWT seems like it’s got something going that’s useful. As to qualia, it did not seem to make any real progress though. If I understood correctly, it’s mostly saying what qualia are for, not how they can even exist in the first place. That’s the hard problem - bumping atoms and moving electrons generating subjective feelings. I have no idea how to even start addressing that, but I don’t see how GWT helps at all either. Anyway, thanks much for these lectures! I enjoyed them immensely!

There is a subtle mistake when creating the Unconscious/Conscious dichotomy. It is more like the salient gradually fades into a mess of smaller 'particles', and these smaller elements very much lend themselves to the richness of qualia.
