Talking about Raven going under breaks my heart. So many good memories of Raven games growing up - as a Star Trek fan, playing Voyager Elite Force was an almost religious experience.

If any game deserves a "WHA HAPPUN??" Episode, it's Singularity (and Postal 3 holy shit). This just demonstrated how talented Raven Software was, because the end product was cobbled together in 8 months using the bare minimum of assets from 2 years of hard work that Activision axed so the could ship the game. Considering how the end product was just the very tip of the iceberg of what they had originally planned and how fast it was assembled, it's amazing it turned out so great!

Resistance, specifically 3 is worth a shot. The weapons do pretty interesting stuff and the single player had a lot of changes in environments tone. I remember it had a secttion like Ravenholm.

Since you asked, the Resistance series was Insomniac's alternate history of WWII and the 1950s, where the Chimera try to absorb humanity and the Earth, the gimmick was the weapons, since they were making tons of Ratchet & Clank games, this was there chance to make M rated version, and return back to FPS's, since there first ever gsm was the FPS "Disrupter". The reason the series is edad is because both that and Killzone weren't Halo popular, even though they did fairly well.

Say what you will about the design of the Newborn in Alien Resurrection, but you cant fault the animatronics. The range of emotion they were able to get out of that thing was staggering. It's what made me a huge fan of Studio ADI, and everything they do.

This game is so nostalgic for me. My best friend and I traded 4 games each over a week break and gave me Singularity. This game was so trippy for a younger less experienced me. Its trying to do so many things and it does them pretty well actually.

I would say that there is decent enemy variety, the problem is you only face one type of enemy at a time so it feels more samey than it is. Theres five or six humanoid mutants, laser crabs, time-resistant enemies...
