What is the knee thing on all the horses

It is a neoprene knee pad to protect the knee against an accidental hit from the other knee when the horse does the spin with a high speed. It has the same role a a hoof boot and polo wraps. It is worn, usualy, on only one knee due to its large size. Hope it helps.
