I now use Tarminator for prepping my tires for their first coat of CarPro PERL. This is necessary because any residue from the tire molding process needs to be removed.
Along with mold residue you have oils on the surface and tire mounting soap that's leftover from mounting. You could also use this for what it's intended for (Tar & Sap removal) because it works great for that too.

Tarminator is great stuff. I've been using it for a few years but supply dried out locally for many months. Thankfully one of the local distributors picked it up again. I wish I could get it from the OG store but shipping it via air is a big no-no. I've never tried it for tire prep so will do this next time.

Could we use it with a tire brush if the wheels are on the vehicle? I saw the old R8 decontamination video and Matt said it was good for getting rid of those old dressing that start browning.

This is kind of an odd question, but how do you clean windshield wipers (specifically, without drying them out)? I have seen people recommend IPA, but it seems that would dry out the rubber. Additionally, I don't know how it would affect rubber wipers with UV or graphite coatings and silicone variants. Finally, do you know of any way to get repellant coatings off that come on some wipers (some silicone wipers come with it and also the RainX beam wipers)?

I just clean them with soap and water when washing.

Matt, do you use carpro tar x to remove bugs also? I’m trying to find something to help with bugs & tar. Currently using Stoners but like to find something different feeling like this stuff is hard on the surface

I generally don't find the need for anything to remove bugs. Just soap and water.

I just bought new tires for my RDX and I can’t get a few streaks of something left on the tire. I used this and ms and still no luck. Any ideas on something stronger to clean the tire?

Try using Mineral Spirits

@@ObsessedGarage Roger that, tried and failed. This is the first set of tires I’ve had issues with not accepting dressing. It just smears across the sidewall when I go to level ot out. And if I leave it, it just dries and is blotchy with the “textured” part of the tire looking fine. I’m at a loss.

More than likely it's just mineral spirits or similar solvent in a spray can just like most tar removers and goof off

It is. This is probably less expensive than most generics, so I find it to be a good solution.
