And the thing is even if he was there for funsies what does it matter. He's an Aussie so would make sense for him to want to be there, likely still has plenty of friends in F1 who he wanted to see and catch up with, and most importantly had every right to be there like everyone else regardless of what people think of him. The comments made by Ted were uncouth and rather pathetic, speaking of Masi like he was some form of criminal, questioning why he was in the paddock even after stating himself that he was there that weekend with the supercars.

And I still believe it is the right decision maybe if the tyres were still heated up as they used to perhaps wouldn't have been so much carnage. Either way I firmly believe all races should be finnished under racing conditions, in other words, no race should finnish under vsc or sc, if is impossible to finnish the race racing to the flag then it should not be resumed, so I firmly believe 95% of the choices that were taken during the race were the right choice, the only ones I disagree are the lack of penalty for gasly for re-entering the track in an unsafe mannner and taking out his own team mate, Seb got one for doing something similar in canada albeit not sending Hamilton into the shadow realm. Sargeant for binning it straight into the back of Nick, and for Sainz perhaps since the consequence of the action was nullified then perhaps they should have not give the penalty and left it as a racing incident.
@NoRightToBragg
@NoRightToBragg Жыл бұрын
@@kipchpineda7161 I disagree that the race should always end under race conditions. Personally I like to see the final order reflect the success of the teams and drivers that best manage the Grand Prix weekend, from qualifying right through the long race including tyre changes and strategy calls. If that means the final 3 laps behind a safety car, so be it. For me, last minute restarts, but especially standing starts from red flag, leave the door open to wildcard endings that leave a bad taste in my mouth. But that’s my mouth, I can see how other people, yourself included, would rather see racing right to the line.

There was no lap erased/deleted (you can't NOT count a lap that the remaining cars did, even at low pace, because it would end up extending the number of laps and that could be an issue for fuel ... especially with 3 standing starts). Yes! Finally someone! The lap was not deleted They needed to decide on a starting order for the restart after the final red flag, not all surviving drivers made it to the sector 1 timing beam before the red flag was thrown so they didn't have the necessary data for the order, meaning they had to rely on the last known order, which was the order for the previous restart.

What a difference a year makes. In 2022, it was Leclerc comfortably winning the AusGP on cruise control having such a big gap while Max DNF'ed. This year it was Max on cruise control as Leclerc DNF'ed.

Considering how pissed everyone was last season, constantly saying red flag the race if a recovery vehicle is on track, I'm surprised how many people yesterday were saying, "Why are they red flagging for that?" I'm over here going, "Maybe the stewards don't want cars on track with a recovery vehicle... anyone remember that?"

Something worth mentioning: -Checo started with hard tyres. -After Leclerc's SC, he pitted for hard tyres. -After the first restart, he was still on hard tyres. Thanks to Magnussen wall ride, we got robbed to watch what happens when a driver doesn't follow the two-compound rule, as Checo (as everyone still racing) went for soft tyres. Sure, you can read the rulebook and all... we could have seen it live, which was actually creating some sort of chaos, as some outlets were saying that any red flag voids the rule, while others were sticking with "only the rain voids the rule". And, watching FIA behavoir as of latter... they don't know which one is true.

6:30 🤣 it was ridiculous... max flew by hamilton, drs flap open and next thing you know he had a 2 seconds gap i was like wtf?! i when to the kitchen to get some water and when i came back he was already 10 seconds ahead... INSANE! with this said, eventho checo did a fantastic recovery drive from p20, it was a bit disappointing he couldnt make it to the top a bit earlier, he spend a lot of time behind noris.

Need to learn about racing bro so you don't be disappointed, Perez stayed behind Norris for a while on purpose because the tyres were going thru a graining phase (absolutely normal when you have overtaken 11 cars already and old hards). After he managed the tyres for a while, he took on Norris and Hulk and set the fastest (record) lap. Driving in free air ahead makes much more easy to manage your own pace and build a gap (Perez did the same in Jeddah last race, before the safety car he had a 12 second gap to Alonso). Going thru the field, even in superior machinery, takes life out of the tryes and it's more tiring. Not taking anything away from Max, he drove perfectly, but cannot judge Perez performance based on Max's circumstances. Both drove different races and both did very well. Going pit lane to P5 is no joke, no matter what car you're driving.
