Yeah, if you cover sth in the original artists way you've got to do a exect copy of his playing. Or you're going to do it your way, because thats what music's about, and that's when attention grabbing guitar sounds and rocky vocals connect with a well droven bass line and a kickass drummer featuring nice fills to get a real unice song in every way 😜🤘But this cover sounds like it's played as a original record, very well done 😜🎸🤘

@dahawk85742 жыл бұрын
Magazines would have this test to get into art school. It showed a sketch of a turtle, then directed you to draw it yourself. When I was a young kid, I thought they meant "copy the sketch". Only a bunch of years later did I have the epiphany that this was the LAST thing they were looking for. They were not out to fill their school with xerox copy machines for students. They were testing you for CREATIVITY. They never instructed anyone to copy the turtle. They wanted to see what kind of flair you would have in your own rendition of a turtle. This is a long way to make the point that there is absolutely nothing "wrong" in this guy not being a carbon copy of Jake E. Lee. ...just like how the last thing Jake set out to do was be a carbon copy of Randy. Listen to him explain how he got hired by Ozzy. He never bothered to even learn Randy's songs. Not til the day before his audition. Ozzy hired him to do his own thing. If you want an exact replica of Jake, just use your stereo. But if you want to be a musical artist, then blaze your own trail. When you do a cover, make it your own.

I’m not dissing Matt’s playing, so please don’t jump on me. But he’s playing the main riff slightly wrong. Jake himself made a video a little while back and said the same thing. It’s a very subtle difference, and you probably wouldn’t hear it unless you were listening very carefully. This guy is absolutely fantastic. He’s better than I am. His technique is ridiculously good. Clean, especially that picking technique. His tone is amazing, too. I think he’s using the BiasFX matching system. Watch BabySaster’s cover of this song. Her feet hand positioning through the main riff is correct. This guy could clearly fix the shaping issues if he watched Jake’s play through. No doubt. I’m only bringing this up because this song is a total bitch to play cleanly. It’s a real workout. If you’re going to do it, you’ll want to learn the first riff the correct way.
@ronaldmackee34014 жыл бұрын
@@theaterdreamer I was gonna say the same thing, but yes, Jake E. Lee shows exactly how that riff goes, and I think part of the solo, or maybe I saw that on a different video, not sure about that.
@gregterkanian51584 жыл бұрын
@@theaterdreamer You should have just said, "he's better than I am" and left it at that. Who the fuck cares if he plays it exactly like Jake E Lee? Maybe he doesn't want to. Maybe this way sounds better. Music is subjective. If everyone copied everyone else, it would suck.
