To me, class B+ is when they CUT off the rear of the existing body to do any add-ons such as a longer cap or a slide. Yes, Roadtrek for example, has a REAR slide on its class B so they've thrown me for a loop. Is it a class B when there's a rear slide?! I honestly don't know... LOL.

I really appreciate that Winnebago classified its EKKO as a class C even though it fits the "B+" profile. Honesty pays.

Please consider doing a regular series, perhaps once a week, where you teach something that you know about RVs. Not a live chat, but something along these lines. Make it predictable instead of occasional. Besides, it is a given that when you teach something, you necessarily learn it much better yourself. And also discuss the kind of scams and strategies to watch out for. Maybe that's even the hook for each of the once-a-week classes: you begin by teaching people about a particular RV scam or peril. Call the series something like "Matt's RV Master Class". And when you get bored, invite or interview any given expert you may know. Add factory tours, etc. And spread your shine that way. Building even more business allies. You have carefully built your particular brand around being honest, and not being purchased by the industry. So run with that credibility, since people give it to you. People who are entering the lifestyle, and have watched many of your videos, are also having to learn about RV life in general. Don't bleed out so many viewers like me to those who only talk about the RV lifestyle and how to operate the things. And merchandising is one thing, but for God's sake don't be tempted to sell out to a particular RV brand. That will kill your own carefully-curated brand at the first instance. And your next business venture ought to be running a business that has a network of pre-certified (by you, per your requirements) inspectors to make sure used purchases are solid. Run with that and I bet you'll make a ton of money. I would hire you for that, and I am making a purchase sometime in February. And what all of these suggestions have in common is building your brand around the concept of trustworthiness and honesty in an industry that lacks some of each. Video reviews, video classes, and certified inspections are all about protecting and educating the customer (and there is your brand concisely stated).

One thing I love about Matt and you will find out if you just start watching these videos that he is 100% honest and he puts integrity before profit ! This is what keeps a company in good standing, it's not the products they sell ,you can get those anywhere, it's the dealership that sells it to you you're buying them not the product. I've retired after 30 years in the Motorsports business and I found that honesty is always the best way ! And that always gives you his honest opinion. That's why when I really want to learn something about these RVs and I am about to purchase soon ,I tune in to Matt

Good explanation, however I think once they have designed and created the templates producing multiples of the same unit should cut down on the price some. You asked for questions so here you go: Best roof for a motor home and why? Weight limit on ladders and roofs? Weight limit on slides? Best slide system and why? Safest RV's? Which RV makers use wood, aluminum or steel? Which RV manufactures have the best service after you buy?

I definitely like Q&A videos! Here's some topics: what's a stinky slinky? What's black vs gray water? What's city water vs potable (potable potable) water? What are the differences in amps? How much does a plastic toilet vs a porcelain toilet weigh and how much to swap to a porcelain one? What needs to be set up at a campsite? Can you drive with propane on? How do you switch between electricity, solar, propane, battery? P.S. I know some of these answers but others may not.

If I’m understanding this right....It’s big people who are building these units which reflects the big prices of owning a class B motor home as stated @ 5:36 min? Reminds me of the movie elf with Will Farrell. I’d suggest the makers of class B motorhomes hire elf’s’ (Fun size People) from Santa’s workshop during the off season. Bring those Little industrialist people over to class B manufactures. . This could help stabilize the class B market for sure, while lining Santa’s pockets. I’m sure Mrs Claus is all in, and ready to refurb her crib in the North Pole with the extra income.

I do appreciate the Q & A videos. Please keep doing them, among your other videos. I have an observation/pseudo-question. I recently drove through 7 western states helping my sister move, and we encountered lots of snowy, slippery, icy, foggy etc. weather, especially in the mountains along our route. We saw LOTS of RVs and travel trailers on the road, most of which were being driven or towed reasonably. There were definitely some newbies, however, struggling with their rigs in wind and slippery conditions. We saw the aftermath of several rig accidents, with rather alarming debris in the ditch beside the road -- the rigs were so smashed up they were only recognizable as RVs or travel trailers by spotting sinks or toilets in the debris (and in one case a brand-name hubcap) -- the rest looked like the contents of a construction dumpster. In the debris of one I spotted (as I drove past) a second-row seat with seatbelts, of the type commonly seen in videos showing the features of various RVs. Seeing that seat among such debris after an accident struck a nerve. In a tow vehicle pulling a trailer all passengers are (or should be) inside the tow vehicle, where they have more solid structure surrounding them plus airbags in many cases to help protect the occupants during an accident. I did not see evidence of such protection, however, in the debris of a crashed self-powered RV. Could you please do a video on the safety/protection of the various passenger seats of self-powered RVs? If an accident occurs and a rig rolls over into the ditch what will protect any passengers not in the front seats, especially if the boxes built onto the chassis weren't built by the automotive manufacturer?

Great video that clearly explained reality ignored by marketing. Reminds me of the “hard topped convertible” which was merely a two-door car in the late 1950s without a mid roof pillar. Today automakers call it a coupe. We owned a B Airstream Interstate and later a B+ LTV Unity, that as you pointed out, was really a C. Now we’re going back to a B.

Informative video Matt! Your videos are always great and I watch nearly every one. Here's my question: Why do all the new Class Cs have slide-outs? I understand why new RV buyers like them because it makes the interior seem more roomy. But realistically, they are very problematic and will become even more problematic over the years. When I was looking to buy a Class C, it was like looking for a unicorn to find one without a slide-out. (I finally found an older, very low mileage Born Free with no slide out.) The mobile RV tech who did some repairs on my furnace said that slide out problems are the majority of his income. The RV industry also seems focused on trying to provide sleeping for at least 6 people. Let me tell you after sleeping on a friend's dinette bed... they are incredibly uncomfortable. You and Andrea keep up the good work. Love you guys!
