Hey everyone welcome back to another video! Today I am super excited were taking a look at an awesome midbunk room 5th wheel. This is the 2021 Dutchmen Astoria 3553mbp. This is a great mid profile 5th wheel that has a Middle Bunk Bed Room. What I love about this RV is that middle bunk room. You see traditionally when you get a bunk house 5th wheel, that back bunk room takes up so much of the RV that you get a small living area. With the MidBunks you get a HUGE Living Area and a small compact bunk area.

Nice Video Matt - I own this model. My family used it the past season on a permanent RV Spot in an RV Park in Wisconsin. A couple items that were overlooked were, this model has automatic leveling, 60 gallons of propane, sleeps 10 adults, 6 gl of hot water, both electric and propane fridge, 2 AC units. The outside storage areas have built in lighting. The interior and exterior lighting are awsome features. Bathrom shower is just like home. The downside which you mentioned is the middle bunk room has heat vents but no AC vents. We have to keep the door open and use small fan to push the cold air in. Keep up the good work on your videos.

I love that bathroom, kitchen and living area. The bedroom doesn't have night stands or a shelf for CPAP. That actually is a deal breaker for me. No other dislikes.

Three things I loved 1. The lights on the counter and on the slides 2. The bathroom 3.the bedroom storage Three things I don’t like 1. No outside kitchen or tv 2 no ventilation in the bunk room 3. I wish the sink was at the end of the counter instead of the middle for more counter space

I like the island/sink/sconces, the floor color, fireplace is a must, and sofa tables. I like the size of the bathroom, too.

I like it! Likes: 1) mid bunk, great for an office/guest room. 2) BATHROOM! 3) the ambiance lighting. Dislikes: 1) no prep for generator. 2) no rear bumper for the stinky slinky. 3) doesnt seem like enough storage. But I'd buy it!

Very nice video. I like the fifth wheel. Love the bathroom really nice. Love the shower and how big it is. Not sure of the bunk room not having vents in there. Love the dinette. The kitchen is great too! It’s a nice fifth wheel. The colors are great and love the ceiling lamps. And love the kitchen sink. Thank you so much Matt and Andrea for the video. Great job!

Wow Matt & Andrea!! I really love this rig! Once we get moved to FL next year and get settled, I’ll have to be reaching out to you for this model to replace our Cougar. Likes: love everything about the bathroom, the colors of the kitchen/living area, and additional awning on the slide. Dislikes: only space for a washer/dryer combo (we prefer two separate machines), pantry is too small, & we prefer no carpet at all in the living/kitchen area.

Great 👍 video you 2! I agree with you both on likes and dislikes! I like the accent lighting though but maybe not on the slide, the bathroom 🚽 is phenomenal easily best in class and if that bunk room had better airflow it would be ideal! That’s a head scratcher! I like the whole kitchen. I like the bathroom. I also like all of the available beds. I would like to see all couches be tri fold. The lights are throwing me off also. The bunk could go. It would open other room and you could fit more upper storage.

Yay, Andrea!! and you, Matt. My 2 dislikes: At this price point I'd expect a generator, and no nightstands in the bedroom. The sconces are mehh, nice enough idea, but too muted to actually add much light by their areas; you get more from most reading lights. One like is you can fit a bunch of solar on that roof if you want, don't have the A/C and vents chopping up the mid area.

Love that bathroom! Wow! I do like the center bunkroom, but not that the air is stale. I'm guessing that room gets no a/c. It would have been better with a low cut door, or a transome, that would be very unique. I really like the counter space next to the stove. It's missing in the smaller classes, and it always sees cramped to me. And the lights in the slide outs, built in? Had a touch of Art Deco ;)

Nice RV... Remove the bunkhouse setup for the work station combo room and it would be a winner for us early retired folks.. the bathroom is awesome , a winner. 3 Things I like: 1 The wheels are very cool, 2 the front kitchen layout is very much cozy feeling or is that the back end lol, either way , I like that it is on one end and not in the middle, 3 the dark wood colors are warm and cozy- 3 things I do not like : 1, that fake stainless steel look on the fridge, I rather have a black one vs that cheap look, go real or go black. 2, its not that I hate it but I rather that half bunk be a small second room if there was a way, it would make the camper just feel more home like and lets see 3 I dont see a third dislike, maybe if I had to climb the ladder , that would be a dislike lol .. also more things I love- I love the country sink, I love that barn door look on the back of the kitchen island. I love those seats. There is too much to love about some campers which makes finding 3 things to dislike very hard.. Also MATT and ANDREA you both makes some of the coolest fun videos to watch, I love day dreaming if I ever won the lotto what I'd buy, so I day dream watching these kind of videos but I have never care about the outside part like on that other channel with the red truck, I always skip the outside part, but with lol Matt and Andrea, they makes it too amusing to not want to watch the outside part and lol the way Andrea is always like please Matt be careful climbing those ladders. You two are a hoot to watch. If ever I win the lotto and can really afford to buy one of these , I know where I am coming. Keep up the great Videos. ALso I like that this one kitchen table looks wider for big boys like me lol.. the heat outside might had made the doors stick.. I looked forward to seeing what Durchman had to offer in their 5th wheel. Overall, they did not disappoint- but a few things are lacking (my humble opinion). My 3's: Likes: 1. Bathroom layout. Love the space and white cabinets. Wish they would have put that thru out the rig. 2. The w/d combo prep. 3. Living room layout Dislikes: 1. No generator or prep. Seriously need it to be able to boondock. Epic fail. 2. The lack of ventilation that Matt referred to. Ugh. 3. Cabinets and cubbies without doors. Need to be able to travel without having to worry about everything falling out. Also, one more.... could the windows be designed to open more, rather than just the small lower part? We had a Winnebago Vectra with the same sort of windows, and cross ventilation wasn't great. Thank you!

+ decent price + nice bathroom. + I personally like the interior design as it's not a clone of everyone else. - The solution to the mid room is to ditch the useless loft and have a proper room. - The door should be moved. I would put the table where the extra couch is at the end and have more open space. It's a minor gripe of mine when I open the door and it is right at a wall. - Floor vents are no bueno. Lack of vents in the mid room also is not good.

Like and dislike: i really liked the pattern of the backsplash, however I think it looks odd because it doesn’t go all the way across the counter, being that it is a small area. It looks like it is unfinished, like short sheeted. Love the bathroom. That looked very nice. Love that you can also achieve the PPPP by sliding the glass door to the opposite end. Dislike: the vent in the floor

I have been waiting for more people to bring in the farmhouse style so I like that. 3 likes : farm house attempt (love white cabinets), love the bathroom more than any other bathroom I’ve seen on a bunkhouse, love the lights in the countertop. 3 dislikes: I wish the mid bunk would get rid of that above head bunk and just put the bed in the room(big enough for kids over 8 years old), I wish they had continued the farmhouse theme because I feel like the valences dont match and the dark cabinets don’t match, etc. I think they should just GO FOR IT with farmhouse, lastly I wish it didn’t have carpet and had a free standing table instead of a dinette.

I really love this video!! I'm curious as to what is so loud inside. At first thought it was traffic noise but then i thought it was the air conditioners. This is the first time I've noticed noise like that. Still, I didn't have any trouble hearing either of you so it's all good ☺

Dutchmen has a good overall design with plenty space and storage My 3 dislikes: 1) I am a bigger person so not a fun of the dinette design, would rather have a breakfast bar against the wall and lose the storage underneath 2)back splash seems half done, should have finished with it being that small of a counter 3) I would rather have a washer and dryer not a single combo unit 4) I wish they would have stuck with the farmhouse design all the way through and the vents looked like they were in the floor My 3 Loves 1) the living room / kitchen design is well thought out with good color choices 2) the mid bunk is designed in a way that it could be used as an office or for school if need 3) the His and Her sinks in the bathroom along with plenty of cabinets

Any time you say you like the double sinks in the bathroom I think you need to do a double sink test just like you do the toilet test. Have you and Andrea both in the bathroom and actually try to use both sinks at the same time. I would always rather have just one sink and more counter space in an RV bathroom.

Well it feel kinda cluttered and tight in the living area with the island love the cabinets style over the couch. Lights on slide are ok but not necessary. Weird design. Tight bunk house how many can it sleep? Amazing bath. Love the colors and space. Whole camper should have been white. Maybe that would have been better. More unison. Nice master bedroom but no end tables. Good windows and storage in there. Would have been nice with an outside kitchen

Like: Size/length short-ish yet all the perks of a big bertha curb smasher; nice for bigger family; good seating for family. Dislikes: cabinets seems a tad cheap (but again it's mid-range); too many slides; don't like two-posts tables. Lots of leg knocking. That said, Dutchmen used to make a good product. So, nice rig.

I would have liked to see the unit w/the slides closed & I wonder how hot the bunk is if the bunk room is hot. Guess you can open the little door for more air. Loved the bathroom size & color. Drawers seem to be cheaply made. Sad they put china bomb tires one it. No night tables on either side of the bed. Style was confusing!!

Really nice floor plan, especially for a smaller fifth wheel. Likes: Love the decor/color scheme - light and modern but still homey; mid-room would make an amazing home office, amazing bathroom. Dislikes: that dinette has got to go, don't like the slide lights (kinda gives the whole thing a nightclub vibe), no nightstands in bedroom.

They need to put a pocket door or a sliding door on the bathroom so you don't get the two doors hitting each other. The only thing I liked in the kitchen is the sink. I'm with you guys they were to wishy-washy with the interior.

Andrea, it wasn’t you. Those drawers are cheaply assembled and are indicative of the overall quality (or lack thereof) of this unit. Sure it has lots of features, but not high end stuff and for that kind of money there are a lot of overall higher quality RVs out there. Thanks for showing us a manufacturer to steer clear of.

Hey you guys! This fifth wheel is pretty surprising, it has a good layout of space inside. 1) I really like the kitchen island and farmhouse sink. 2) The fridge is plenty big, but pretty ugly finish on the outside. 3) Love that bathroom. For dislikes: 1) I dislike that old RV brown color scheme in the living area - along with those valances and side area covering on the windows - ( Cant help but wonder if RV manufacturers will ever get rid of that ugly decor). Couldn't they have put a nicer looking table and chairs, without that ugly pattern on the back of the cushions? 2) Bunk room is nice, but needs work on that air flow. 3). In the bedroom, why not go with a queen bed and add night stands? This RV has really bad color choices for the interior Except for the bathroom! Whoever designed the color scheme and cabinets in the bathroom needs to help with the rest of the interior! The drawers look really flimsy and cheap - can see them falling apart after a couple of uses. :(. Thanks for a great review! God bless!

I love the bathroom I LOVE the bunkhouse what a perfect office space but get rid of the worthless bunk above and put a proper ceiling this would allow for ventilation love the exterior storage I dislike all the weird lights while i love that the fridge is large and runs on propane i HATE that its stainless steel and WHY are we still putting carpet under the dining table????? we have seen that its not necessary. PS i dont like the dinette so i hope a freestanding table and chairs is an option

The bathroom is great. The bunk room is dumb, especially if it's stuffy - and the bed overhead doesn't have enough room to really be useful. When I cook, I like to have more room around the stove so I can dip fish into batter and then into the skillet, for example. The area around the stove is therefore too cramped. I'm disappointed to see vents in the floor in the kitchen area.

Likes: 1. King-sized bed!!! 2. Pretty much the whole kitchen - especially the pantry (I'm a sucker for a good-sized pantry). 3. Washer/dryer hookup. Dislikes: 1. The bathroom - the placement of the second sink basically right next to the toilet. It's going to be hard to get to - you'll always be stepping around the toilet. Give us dual mirrored medicine cabinets instead of that central tower. 2. No nightstands beside the bed. 3. The decor is meh. I appreciate the gray sofa, and light color on the walls, but the overall aesthetic isn't cohesive.

Tell your manufacturer to stop being stingy with the TV's. Leisure camper van has 65" TV's.. if they can do it, then fifth wheels can. Cook up a completely different floorplan to include a much bigger area for the TV's and bigger fireplace
