I had the heat hose connector on the left side that goes into the cab dry rot and broke off inside the hose and was dripping coolant. Replaced both heater hose fittings with stainless steel ones and the plastic y that connects them the water pump broke in this process so it got replaced. Week or so ago noticed the plastic tank on the radiator (drivers side) was cracked and leaking Had radiator replaced. Keep in mind it’s a 2011 1500 5.3. Also has small oil leak that I need to get fixed.

862 are the exact same heads. Castech made a very small batch of them as well though. Check for a little battery logo when you remove the valve cover. That’s castech’s emblem

And 243 heads are better than 706 for small bore applications.

Love your videos btw, very helpful. Quick question. I have a 2000 silverado 5.3. I add around a gallon of coolant every 3 months. However, I don't see any coolant in the drained oil since it's pure black when it come out. Could it still be the head gasket or something else? Any ideas? Thanks

Hey I have a 2007 Chev equinox and it's overheating all sudden but I don't think it's a thermostat. Is it possible that maybe transmission fluids that it needs cannot make it overheat if it's low

I’m having overheating problems and I’ve tried everything replaced some parts same issue I’m reaching a breaking point

Get a radiator pressure tester kit and test the pressure of the whole system to the proper PSI. Make sure it holds pressure. If it doesn't, it will ALWAYS overheat!
@newkidflip430Ай бұрын
I'd say you got it figured out by now, but if you drain the coolant out, after you fill it back up, you have to bleed the coolant system because if not, it can cause overheating. Make sure you get all the air bubbles out.

Not really.... These Vortex motors will run forever. I just replaced the water pump, yeah, I know, supposed to run forever. 20 years on the factory part, ..... I'm not complaining
