This is bonkers. This way of entering via some previously unknown bit of your own house you never knew existed before is something I've seen in my dreams so many times, and surely others must have too. Some unknown nook or corner or hidden doorway that you go through, beyond which your house continues forever and ever, familiar decor at first but getting stranger and stranger the further you roam. Sent a shiver up my spine to see it used in an exploration vid like this. Sound, lighting and layout design are all top notch, great execution!

So worth the wait! I love the idea of a stable(?) entry point without an elaborate backstory, keeps it mysterious and exciting yet somehow more relatable. I've had dreams about finding hidden passages or corridors in my house, and this captures the all the vague anxiety and surreal disorientation of one of those experiences. Also I just have to say-- you make masterful use of out-of-context furniture. It heightens the effect SO much and adds just the right touch of subtle menace from an unseen presence. I really appreciate the effort to create a more nuanced form of visual storytelling in this space that doesn't rely so much on jump scares and other clichéd tropes (not to knock that stuff--I know plenty of people enjoy it--just not my thing). Thank you for doing this incredible work! I look forward to the next installment.

This is one of the few Backrooms videos that actually hits the par of Kane's. Kudos for putting in the effort to not only make it photorealistic, but also create your own original architecture for the rooms, not steal Kane's monsters and hazmat suits, and create an original story that brings the fear back into the Backrooms as a concept. Basically, the TLDR is that you did a good job.

matt's backrooms happens in the same universe as kane's backrooms. what we're viewing is what was filmed by a random person who entered, not an exploration made by a-sync who controls the original stable access portal. gotta remember that the original backrooms is a 600 million square mile dimension. so the odds of any interaction between matt's characters and kane's are VERY slim and it makes sense given the scale. this guy couldve been on the complete other side of the backrooms dimension for as far as we know. but the new idea matt introduces here adding to the lore is that there are _more_ stable access points other than the one a-sync has. and it brings to the table that there could potentially be dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of additional access points created from natural doorways that would otherwise lead "nowhere".

First of all, I really really love how the camerman found the backrooms, he didn’t noclip in, he just seamlessly crawled through a little space in the wall, which leaves us wondering if the backrooms were there the whole time or just kinda appeared once he moved that closet. The tunnel at 1:55 reminded me of some dream or memory I had a long time ago too, it was that small light that really did it but I thought it’d be worth mentioning anyways. I also like the architecture of your videos, like that window at 5:14, the pit at 5:49 as well as that big empty room with a few outlying chairs, the truncated walls at 6:16, and finally that balcony with the building on the other side, seemingly “outside” at 7:10. Also love how his salvation is hidden behind a tiny hole in the wall and a staircase shrouded in darkness. I also really find it cool that he found his entrance point again and seemingly escaped. I don’t think that’s ever happened in any other videos. Keep up the good work, I literally thought the real world area was actually filmed in real life

Matt, oh my god dude. You're almost better than Kane Pixels or A-Sync Productions in my opinion. The level of realism is almost scary. You even included a model for a non-hazmat human briefly... not many people are ambitious enough (in the case that a person is falling down a hole) to show it on the camera; that was really cool. I also enjoy how Matt's backrooms are so much more interesting than others... it's still the regular old backrooms, but there's chairs and sofas and railings sprinkled throughout, different floors... it's a step-up from the regular yellow backrooms, with so much change. I also thought the sound design was really well-done, the mix of white noise and presumable ventilation and humming from the walls and lights. I love the "story" for this one, or lack thereof. It's literally just someone stumbling across a secret passageway in their basement that was hidden behind a piece of furniture. This is something I personally always dreamed of encountering/stumbling upon. It's also fascinating that this particular MC found his way back to where he came from; against all odds, I guess, he got extremely lucky and found a different path back in the direction he came. Great and believable voice acting as well. Really fits into this film well. Kane Pixels and A-Sync are cool for trying to incorporate some bigger "science" lore, but I actually prefer Matt's take even more. My biggest praise is the lack of monsters and supernatural stuff. The beauty of the backrooms is... the ROOMS. Yes, I know that the original backroom concept included a chance of running into an entity. But, "chance" is the keyword! It's not immersive when an MC runs into a monster within 30 minutes of being in the backrooms. I LOVE how in this interpretation, the guy just walks around. I almost felt like the whole point was for us, the viewer, to simply marvel at the interior design and infrastructure. Something to just "take in". Bonus points for the believable walking speed. Most backroom videos have the POV walking WAY too slow. But if someone were to pull out their phone and record themselves walking down a corridor, I think their speed -- and the walking speed in this video -- would match. Not too fast, not too slow. And the jostling of the POV/camera view is perfect too; not too shaky, so we can observe the surroundings; but not too stable, either, to actually emulate someone walking with a camera. The 90s-esque camera resolution/definition (and sound "quality") was also accurate. Really evokes the nostalgia of a personal camcorder. Every aspect of this video is incredible. I've consumed so much backrooms videos over the year, and I think this was among my top five experiences. This video does SO MUCH -- and yet keeps things SO SIMPLE at the same time. Every time I see a backrooms video, from one of the greats or a more amateur channel, what is depicted in this video is precisely what I'm anticipating I'll watch. And if it's not like this video, I usually feel a bit of disappointment. So I personally thought this rendition of the backrooms concept was 10/10. Is there a Patreon? How can I compensate the creator?

The first area before he falls into the actual backrooms part was really calm and chill in a way. Really easy on the eyes and the colors were cooler, no buzzing from fluorescent lights and the camera man's soft voice made me want more of that part of the video. He stops talking once he falls in the backrooms because he now feels like he's out of control of the situation. In the first area, he felt comfortable enough to talk and could retrace his steps back to his house. It's just 2 vibes in one video I appreciate revisiting.

As someone else in the comments said this is eerily similar to dreams I have often about being in my late grandmothers' houses, finding all sorts of new hidden corridors, floor levels, rooms, etc. Very chilling to see it on screen, and very effective. I loved how grainy and dark the overall footage was; really felt like I was watching something filmed in the late 90s or early 00s. Your backrooms series is probably my favorite, honestly; the lack of jumpscares and just pure building anxiety with zero tension release is unparalleled and allows me to relax while watching (because I know I won't be startled) without actually "relaxing", if that makes sense. Also really loved the little touch of how when he'd pass rooms he'd either not look into them at all, or just slightly look, like it was an effort to turn his head. My dreams often involve that phenomenon, too. Idk if it means anything significant that we all seem to have these dreams, or if it's just a natural human thing, but your videos really hardcore play into that innate fear and draw it out. Well done as always :)

Goodness, I know I’m just repeating what everyone else has already said, but this is legitimately excellent - like, the first Backrooms video in sooo so long that’s actually managed to thoroughly freak me the heck out. Just… where do I even start? The sound design is outstanding - listening to this with headphones was such a tense experience (I don’t think I’ve ever jumped before at the sound of a camera zoom). The architecture was so damn eerie, and you’ve got such a good sense of where to place shadows for maximum creepiness. And it’s always so refreshing to find a video that actually gives the protagonist characterization, as well as a good reason to have a camera on them in the first place. It's refreshing, too, to come across a video that doesn't end with the protagonist getting chased by some sort of scribble-monster. Extra marks too for believable walking speed + believable camera movement + all the creepy little details like the knocked-over chair etc. Someone else already said that, out of all the Backrooms stuff they’ve watched over the past year, this is like, top five video stuff. And I definitely agree with that. At the very least, it’s the first one I’ve ever felt the need to comment on. TLDR: Terrific stuff. Absolutely loved it :-)

What this especially adds to the lore is how fresh the horror is for someone new to the backrooms. There are plenty of generic videos ending with an exciting chase. There are far fewer that capture such natural human movement, reaction, and encounter. Having a wanderer find his way back for once through happenstance is a great variable in an environment composed of the unpredictable made plain, too. It's like pulling feet out of a river before legs and body get swept into the rushing water.

Wow- this is the best take on the concept of the Backrooms I have ever seen. You stepped past Kane to take the number one spot here. The idea that rather than just no-clipping through a discontinuity portal, this thing was sitting in your house the whole time, like the back of the wardrobe to Narnia. The idea that the Backrooms could project into your own home and lure you in, then confuse and digest you, then spit you back out where you started is really great. Also, the animation in this was just fantastic- audio and video. I really felt like I was there, walking around- it felt really real, l felt a creeping sense of panic, of being terribly lost in a bad dream, but it’s real. So many great details. The lighting, the shadow play, the choice of surface textures, the level of detail looked like nanite. The sound effects really hit- the soft footfalls of shoes on carpet, the breathing, shuffling sounds. I would have been swearing under my breath and freaking out more personally, but wow. The whole thing was so good! My god- please keep doing this. You really raised the bar here. 🎉 can you hear the audience clapping? Listen to that. Wow.

Everything about this video is perfect! The realistic camera movements, the voice acting, the graphics, the architecture of the rooms, and of course, the storytelling. The concept of entering the backrooms by stumbling across a hidden space in your own home is not only brilliant, but it's also truly creepy, as opposed to just noclipping through an invisible portal. Another thing is the lack of entities. You don't need entities to make the backrooms scary. The backrooms are scary within itself. 1:59 was enough to make me jump! I thoroughly enjoy backroom videos that contain both entities and no entities. However, I cannot deny the fact that backrooms set with nothing but complex and impossible architecture is just so damn fascinating. It's the pure definition of a void. Good job on this, truly. I hope to see more.

I felt like I've had dreams like this constantly, like it would be my seemingly normal house but there would always been an extra room that would lead to complicated series of rooms, this captures that PERFECTLY.

yes yes yes yes yes all yes, i've been thinking of making backrooms found footage of my own for some time now and was thinking of doing it the way you did here, some random room you find either out in the open, or in some place in your house you never knew existed. yet once you dive deeper you realize the room is larger then what it seems on the outside and suddenly you're wandering this vast open maze with oddly shaped walls and never ending corridors. i'm only 1:29 into this video yet i can already tell i'm going to love it. (forgot to add great job, i love everything about it!)

You do best backrooms and pool room vids. Don’t need stupid looking monsters in it to scare you. It clearly is a place that defies logic and reason. That imo is enough to be unsettling and disturbing but also tranquil and chill.

These backrooms videos are like none I've seen really. I mean legit this is a new discovery that's gonna be great for the people who actually find it. Great work making it feel like the viewers are also in the experience of being in the backrooms. We seriously don't need more monsters in the backrooms and having it just as it was intended is great. Thanks for making this

This was so incredibly well done, items, structures and movement looked so real. Intriguing, no silly entities mucking about, no jarring "no clipping". Just purist liminal exploration. Fantastic.

I want to echo the sentiment of others and say how I love the pureness of your videos. There are no monsters or other "scary" beings, which for me instantly and completely kills the anxiety. Just makes me feel like I'm watching a cartoon. I love that it's just endless confusing architecture combined with the ambient buzzing of electrical and ventilation systems. Just the idea that you could be stuck alone, forever, in this infinite environment is really creepy and foreboding.

I like the way this video portrays the Backrooms. It's like a place you can just take a walk in whenever you have nothing to do, instead of an endless liminal trap. I could see this guy getting used to it and accepting it as a weird gimmick of his house.

Sorry for my English, It's an excellent idea not to have put a monster, thank you very much for that :). It takes us back to the basics of backrooms, the solitude, the infinite spaces, the strange architecture of the rooms, the young man was very lucky to find his way back! By the way, I found it curious that the videos came back to us when people are usually stuck in backrooms, it not makes sense. It's very well done, and reminds me of a video game I'm playing at the moment, "Manifold Garden", which has infinite elements.

Thank you for sticking to the original backrooms lore and style, I've been in the fandom since like 2020 and I don't like Kane Pixel's interpretation of them. The loneliness and anxiety despite the lack of danger is what makes the backrooms unique and you replicated that perfectly :)

Imagine finding your way 'back' only to find your home is now just a shell of a copy of the original as part of the Back Rooms... and that's how they all begin... and why people find 'bedrooms' and 'pieces of other people's places' along the way.
