I know that location is everything, but I didn't think any of the apartments were worth their price tags. One interesting thing I noticed when living in London is that no matter how luxurious and expensive the houses were, the outside space is never anything more than a very tiny backyard where you couldn't swing a cat.

I swear I'm not trying to sound smarmy or mean but the English don't have "backyards". They have a "garden". Also, being wealthy enough to afford a city mansion in the financial capitol of the world requires several must-have elements which we non wealthy people don't need to worry about. Finally, London is finite. As grand, historical, vast and large as it is in our minds it is still a single city in a single country.

Hi Laura. I am a born Londoner…….may I respectfully point out that anyone who forks out £20m for a London property usually has an estate in the country with many, many thousands of acres!!! (PS. I am not one of them! 😊).

I used to think this, but as I spend much of my time in the kitchen, when my husband comes home he likes to relax in the living area and I find I feel quite isolated and can’t talk to him unless I keep stopping my tasks to go in and speak to him. And after a hard day at work I can’t exactly ask him to hang out at the dining table to keep me company. I like this layout as it brings those spaces together so I can carry on working and he can relax and we can still be together. Plus the dining area is intimate and cosy for having friends over.

@@lindamaclean556 Exactly! I was just giving them a playful ribbing. It was sweetly hilarious to hear them gush over Holmes' solicitor apparently staying there, with Sherlock - a fictional character - occasionally visiting! I see they've tried to backtrack a little by adding a note to the video stating that Holmes was based on a real man, Dr Joseph Bell. That's never been officially ratified although it's a common assumption. However, that's not what Matt and Summer were implying. They said that Holmes' solicitor lived there and that Sherlock would visit. The truth is that the property was once owned by Frederick Willis Farrer, a solicitor who had Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - the creator of Sherlock Holmes - as one of his clients. So the connection to the character of Holmes is there at least, in as much as the creator of Holmes may have visited. Still, a great video as usual and a stunning property.
