I live near this house and It was built on land from the neighbours garden. It was also on the market recently for £2 million. In fairness although I personally think the interior design is cold and dated and I also agree with the tarmac drive issue that everyone is mentioning, it is worth the money and it is the value in the road. I was recently looking at a house on the same side of the road, built in the 1920s, which needs a complete gut and re do, literally everything doing and that is on the market for a million . There is nothing Edwardian about the house, other than the neighbouring houses and when you drive past its a bit of an eyesore. However it is still worth the money, for someone who likes that sort of thing. It would never be my taste - I think by the way the windows look cheap and the kitchen has AEG appliance - super cheap. I agree on the two island, total design fault , total waste of time. For those people talking about pools and gyms and later gardens, you are talking £3 million plus in this area for these features.

It is actually pretty well priced for the road it is in,. However it was built in a neighbour s garden, as a few houses on this road have been, so it can look at bit like that. Lots of people are selling off part of their garden as a building plot.

Narrow entryways with an immediate view of a staircase is very British. Also consider the Frank Lloyd Wright concept of "hold and release" - a tight entry way that opens to a bigger space. In my personal home, I have a similar concept with a front entryway mud room.

Beautiful house and very well done. I have two gripes and they are very big. The drive looks poorly finished or unfinished and should be a resin drive with boarder. Corner cutting. The second island is way too big and over kill and makes the room very cluttered when it’s actually a very big space. And the dark colours with that island makes it look even more cluttered. Still love the colour choices it just doesn’t work when the space is packed up like that. Hopefully it’s tiled underneath and not secured to the floor so it can be removed.

So, is there are plethora of car rental companies in the UK who only lend cars to thirsty real estate agents filming adverts for their properties? Got a subpar new-build to sell? Rent a Bentley for an hour! Honorable mention, at least for staging “luxury” properties here in the US: Hermès blankets, empty Chanel shopping bags and the ubiquitous Louis Vuitton coffee table book.
@RRaymer8 ай бұрын
Staging properties in the UK is a relatively new thing. Only until a few years ago, much of these would be basic ordinary home sales or off market sales. It was more about discretion, and less flamboyance in UK & Europe. And Open Houses did not exist either until recently. Now, the market seems to be experimenting with this.

why are the ceilings so low on the first floor? Prefer gas. I abhor elec. And I'm suprised for a "bespoke" kitchen there isn't a butler's pantry, even the food pantry was small. Who was this house bespoke to, the developer? I did like the door trim and dental moulding. Where was the washer and dryer (laundry room)? And no library? and not a single bedroom had a wardrobe/clothes closet? At the very least, the master should have walk in closets. Fascinating seeing a newer built home in England and how things are different here in the U.S. btw, Bently, but not that one. But I'd want to test drive the Ferrari.

You asked so NO I don't think it's worth the asking price. The ceilings seems very low throughout. Main drawback is there is NO privacy and landscaping is at a minimum or non existent, as in the back yard. There are also many features that need to be added, like closets! BBQ area, pool or water feature. I don't really know the pricing in that area but it seems like it's overpriced to me. A beautiful home but a little conflicted between the traditional style and then some modern features. Not consistent to me. Sorry!

Elephant in the room - the limited garden is surrounded by the neighbours garden, so they can perve and spy at you any time they want. I bet they owned the whole plot and sold off this property's plot for a fee, but wanted to keep most of the original plot for themselves. I would feel like a tenant if I bought this place, no matter how nice inside it may be. "We're letting you have this little bit of our land for you nice little house. But we're surrounding it with our land to keep an eye on you. Oh, and next year, you know that stip of land to the left of your house? Awful house, never justifies that price. There is a lot of land but the house size is awful in terms of the use of the land space. Better thing would have been to secure the property from the neighbours/outside and rebuild the house in the centre of the land. The two cars together outside almost are the same length as the entire house!
@charlesjay88188 ай бұрын
So many people in the comments complaining about the price yet again..... if this was in outer London.... Oxshott, Radlett, Weybridge, Virginia waters, Wentworth etc etc it would be £5-10 million and you'd be complaining, if it was in Hampsted it would be £10-20 million and you'd be complaining, and in central London it would be a 2-3 bed flat costing £5 million and the same old people will be complaining. It's probably around the right price give or take based on the area, sq/m number of rooms etc etc. Not my ideal home with the low ceilings, ridiculous huge driveway and lack of privacy and no gym/games room/cinema but it's okay But 99.9999% of the people in the comments including myself are not going to be buying it, so what any of us think is irrelevant.

Feels like you're trapped... 3. The use of pediment door casing, and ceiling cornices are historically inaccurate, and screams "I've built cheaply but adding this will make it look luxury" lol 4. The second island in the kitchen makes no sense, why not just have a banquette? 5. Why on earth would you use those beautiful fixtures on PAINTED wood cabinets? 6. CARPET? In 2024? WTH are we going back to the 1970s?? lmao 7. OMG Every time he walks through a door way I think he's going to hit his head, lol 8. That bedroom @12:57 is SO small, my god you can barely walk around the bed before hitting the wall with the windows. Overall, definitely not worth that price. You wouldn't be able to sell that here in the US for even 1/2 that price given the preceding elements.
