Wondering the same. Looked all over the place for the kitchen video. Wanted to see the final product furnished. I was also waiting to see if you were going to make a box to conceal the tubes of the a/c in the living room. We installed the ductless. Love the cooling but hate the monstrous units. You have been a stickler on everything I am thinking you wood as you have done in the kitchen. You have done a beautiful job with your tiny home. Selection of the finishes amazing & those stairs!! Not a fan of your bedspread, lol!! My father was a woodworker and like you a perfectionist. It really shows Drew.

Drew, my husband and I built the home where we raised our kids. I was pregnant with our fourth at the time, and we worked so hard on that build but had never had so much fun! I designed everything down to the last detail on our computer, and my husband figured out how to take those plans and make it all happen with my assistance. He drove off to work every morning, and we put our heads and hands together every afternoon, evening and weekend to get the house built. Like you, we had no prior experience and learned as we went. BUT…although we were super proud of our work, your craftsmanship is gorgeous! You were born to do this.😊

Treads, silly me I thought he was actually building a table…of course there was that part about the couple extra pieces which I couldn’t figure out. And then he said treads and started cutting up the table! Oh, he really did mean treads. (I thought I was gonna carpeted stairs.) LOL…

That’s the beauty of craftsman homes. I hope the ones that are still existing, stay standing. Sadly as time goes on people seem to tear down good architecture and build concrete boxes. ‘Oh but they’re… ‘modern’, ‘contemporary’, ‘this century’, they were designed by ____.’ They are just cold boxes made out of concrete…and they’re soulless. So sad. I’ve seen 3-4$M Craftsman homes in LA County demolished to literally build concrete boxes. It’s heartbreaking to me.

There are blinds that can be installed inside to block sunlight. I personally prefer roller shades that are mounted above the window outside. Blocking the sun from the outside is much more effective - so much so that we don't have air-conditioning (together with really well insulated beton walls). Both options can have an electronic motor - and could theoretically be controlled by a single control panel or an app. Though I doubt that's practical in real life. I think you could also have sensors - that will make it drop down if the sun is too intense. In practice a single switch directly next to it is sufficient - you can adjust how much light you still want/need for plants.

I wouldn't have the mattress directly on the floor, grab a couple 2x2 or 3x3 wooden beams and creat a breathable platform to prevent damp mould and mildew, but keep up the great work looks amazing 🤩
@Kathy-zx5buАй бұрын
You can also get a mat that goes under it. I believe it is made of bamboo. They use them in vans and buses.
@theresabu3000Ай бұрын
Yes, he needs something that will provide a bit of airflow below the mattress. The floor is not completely closed below - but the openings are too small - and with the carpet above it is essentially draftproof. Otherwise you could flip the mattress often (every week) - which is impossible in this loft (or at least really troublesome).
@RevdUp.Art.FotograferАй бұрын
I was going to comment on that. I don’t know if it being on the carpet is different than on solid surface, but I would check.
@crazydoglady5Ай бұрын
they make platform beds out of wood and mattress sits directly on top of it....whats the difference?
