Hi Matt, Yes very useful indeed. Gives me a few new ideas for my own setup. Keep up the good work. Like the intro tune. A standard signature tune or intro. seems logical. Hearing and recognising it sets the scene for you every time before you get visually into the video. All the best. Wm.

Diggin' "All The Blue Bonnets" in the intro!

Your thoughts: should I keep picking new pipe tunes for every intro (like I've been doing) or should I find one and stick with it?
@johnnickpappanastos33825 жыл бұрын
@@MattWillisBagpiper It's tempting to recommend that you stick with the 'All The Blue Bonnets', since it is my favorite bagpipes tune.. But variety, they say, is the spice of life. Mix it up ;)

@@MattWillisBagpiper intro tune: how about a bit of both? A personal intro phrase (e.g. One prior to piobaireached) and then a random tune.
@johnnickpappanastos33825 жыл бұрын
@@LesliePiper I like the idea of a strong, original piobaireached piece for intros.. Makes good sense from a brand development standpoint.

We have a bagpipe performance at my school every year for Veteran's Day, and I can honestly say it's something I always look forward to. Today was my last time watching him as I will have graduated by his next performance. He almost makes me want to learn myself. So I googled bagpipe lessons around my area and found you. I'm so tempted to email you and ask about lessons but I also really need to focus on my clarinet playing this year.
@MattWillisBagpiper5 жыл бұрын
I'd love to get you started! Picking up the pipes and the dexterity it will build will help your clarinet technique. I know it's helped my saxophone technique!

About that saw blade on your Leatherman -- I was at a games once and just getting used to a tied-in vs. grommet bag, and realized my blowpipe was now too long. My friend had just such a saw, which I used to cut down the mouthpiece to a comfortable size that morning, and was able then to play comfortably! So don't discount the saw blade!

Hi, my name is Dalton, I am blind, and was wondering what does a bagpipe feel like? Also I was wondering if you know of anyone that lives in Arizona who plays the bagpipe that might be able to show me what they feel like? I apologize if this question seems stupid, but I have always wondered what a bagpipe feels like? I have heard them played in movies and videos, but never in the flesh. I have a deep fascination for all different types of musical instruments, and I have learned almost every instrument that I have picked up.

If it's really cold you could put some of those Hot Hands warmers in the Wristie on the inside of your wrist where the blood flows. Warm blood normally means warm digits.

Great advise for those in colder climates! Heck, there's even some days in Texas those would be useful.

Matt, excellent video. Thank you! I'm curious about your bag cover. Where could I get a similarly-styled cover? It looks great. Thanks again!
