Every now and again you come across a song that consumes your whole spirit and shakes your whole world apart. Hearing this song for the first time has probably been the most profound experience of them all. I had to pull over while driving to collect myself. I have a broken relationship with my father, we are very close but also very distant, but this brought me to see his side of our dynamic. I broke down afterwards, but in a way that brought in light to a seemingly never ending dark hole that's been in my heart. Thank you Matt Maeson for this experience! Your music will break people down in a way that will build them up!

This song reminds me of something you can’t seem to catch. No matter how hard you try, no matter how much you try to be better. Your just looking for relief, no matter the consequences. Seems to me this song is about importance of your family and closest friends. Matt is returning home after a long time, hoping to see what his parents saw in him when he was young, so he won't feel worthless anymore. His family is welcoming him, they fully understand him and they are ready to stand by him. At home, he feels much better and stronger.

Im here because my sister shared this song with me after seeing her in person for the first time in two years. My brother showed her the song first. That night, we drove down the highway just south of Chicago in the night with the windows down. It was warm outside, i felt like i was in blanket. I'll never forget the feeling I had when I heard this song. It will forever hold a piece of my heart. I don't think she'll see this comment because she uses spotify, but I cried that night in the car with her. I don't plan on telling her that part though.

i dont rly think its quite appreciated just how fucking difficult some of matt maesons songs are, and this one is a great example. outside of the fact thatr in almost live performances of this song he sounds exactly the same and is also playing guitar, but thats besides the point. Theres a ton of really hard vowels to perform really hgih notes on. you wanna do high stuff on open vowels, aahh and the like, stuff opening up, powels like the u in put and hard ee vowels do not allow for that, and considering how fucking high matt insists on going on those vowels, its really impressive vocally. Not even to mention how rangey some of this songs are, with this one alone going from a low F2 all the way up to a high Bb4, and for a tenor like matt neither of those notes are prticularly easy.
