I saw the Maudie film (2016) last night. Such a wonderful film. Sally Hawkins played Maud Lewis; such a wonderful portrayal of a fabulous woman. 😊

My grandmother introduced me to Maud when she was in hospital with the broken hip. She was delightful. And yes, I recall the story of Everett coming in with a briefcase filled with cash and cheques. That was told to me by my grandmother, who was staying there daily, caring for her dying husband.

For God sake, will a good & aggressive lawyer please step forward and put an end to this b.s. and get Fred his rights? He's got a will and letters. Shame on the art gallery exploiting her work illegally! They appear to be honoring her memory but they are completely DIShonoring her and her expressed wishes. Somebody rectify this. Geez!

I just finished watching the movie. Such a great film. Great pair they were. This rightfully belongs to to Fred. I hope that someone will take on Fred’s case and he gets what Maud and Everette left him. It is rightfully his. It’s unbelievable and evil how greedy these horrible people are. Rest in eternal peace Maude and Everette Lewis

Thank you so much for sharing Fred’s story. I am sharing this with everyone. The AGNS needs to be held accountable.

It's about 40 years since Everett passed, so the people who conspired and or began collecting the royalities have retired. They all should be called back to right a wrong. Lawyers are expensive, but isn't there one who will do it on a percentage basis? Other old cases against the government surface from time to time. This video needs more views. 11K after 10 months is not enough.

Maud Lewis shared so much with the late artist Bettina Huggino. their art was their escape from a rough and tumble world. Bettina left us paintings so incandescent they outshone the sun!

Dear Fred Trask, I am so sorry that this happened. I wish that there were something that I could do. I love your artwork, and I have four pieces currently… And they all lovingly remind me of Maude. I pray there will be a day where you will see everything justified… And that the wrongs will be made, right. You deserve that. They clearly loved and trusted you. Alison. Artist. NS. I will never look at AGNS again the same. How horrible.

One huge issue here. Her name is Maud. Not the typical spelling. And at 7:56 she signed it "Maude". Why has no one picked up on this? And SO MANY documents. This man (and possibly others) tried very hard to prove the documentation of the rights/money to the "estate".
@hanacinnabun7 ай бұрын
Hmm that’s interesting. Do you think all the documents are forged? I would hope he has a case for this because it seems it’s what Maud wanted no? Perhaps she chose to spell it differently at times as Maude?

The more upvotes, and the more comments, even simple ones, will cause YT to put this video on more "recomended" lists which will aid in more viewers. All 3 will help spread the news and maybe, hopefully, change something. Is a newspaper willing to ask AGNS their reaction to this video? Public awareness is a good thing.

How sad for Fred. All those greedy people should have to give all that back to Fred. There has to be a lawyer who can help.
@StillStanding-k2h4 ай бұрын
I’ve read multiple articles and sources that state she left everything to her brother Charles and he came and took everything after her passing leaving her husband with nothing. So did the brother just take all her belongings because he thought he had the right to everything of hers despite everything he did to her? If so I’m glad this Fred guy was the one who legally inherited everything of the couple’s estate and I hope the brother was made to hand everything that wasn’t rightfully his over to him, because her brother sounds like a right @zzhole! Taking everything out on his sister because his wife left him if everything I’ve read is true. Selling their childhood home and taking the p*ss out of his sister because of her disability and health conditions. And her so called friend who brought a lot of her artwork and tried to sell it for double the price and also tried to sell replicas she and her husband had made. Doing that put them out of business and that’s what you get for trying to take advantage of a vulnerable woman. Karma is a b*tch! “We did it to try and get her work more known around the world.” No you did it for your own selfish and greedy needs to make money off someone else’s work that didn’t belong to you! Edit: just finished the full video and a top lawyer should take on Fred’s case and get everything back that legally belongs to him! The audacity of the people and company involved taking things that they know full well isn’t theirs and making millions of dollars off property and belongings that isn’t theirs! Why hasn’t an attorney who knows what they’re doing not helped this guy get back what’s rightfully his? Someone should have stepped up along time ago to help him!

If he's got a legitimate case, why doesn't he sell the Maud Lewis paintings that he already owns to fund his claim? Surely that will raise enough funds to pay the lawyers?

PS Fred should have been more active (aka done something) back in 1979. That "duly filed" will never should have allowed later actions cutting Fred out. I'd have to watch again to understand how the "family" sold/gave licensing to the Society. The found daughter is the only heir, and I think she is gone now too . I did too many searches but did not write the results. 2017?
@clifflofgrin5962 Жыл бұрын
@@cademancaden I read your comments and I think they are worthy to be read by others. What disturbed me was her granting licensing rights for items she had not yet produced. it sounded funny OR should not have been done without an agreement and some compensation. There other thing is her inability to comprehend that stuff going out WET conflicted with her $5 a picture rational. (I find my sentence hard to express). When a ya-who (phonetic, since it sounds like a web site and youtube does not like web name), when a ya-who in Washington buys a pricture, someone should have told her $10 would be more fair. I'm sorry she existed on such a limited income. As for Freddy, you may be right. Yet, it seems he was a friend but could have, should have done more, much like the lady artist who was middlemaning the art. Both "befriended" her, there are degrees of friends. I had done all the research I cared to do so I will not bring up the gap between her death and the husbands and document discovery and anything semi-related like someone who claims "I lost the lottery ticket that someone else cashed" which usually was a con/scam. Thanks for sharing Caderman.
