How funny!!! We were in Maui for 16 days and ate at Mama's fish house on Mother's day!! We did the road to Hana and the road was not open all the way for us. We did the sunrise at the crater and yes it was very, very cold and windy. We had packed winter coats. 2am was a early start for us! But the experience was well worth all of it!

Have a great trip! Your decision to not rent a car for the Road to Hana tour is the right one. The small buses they use have access to areas rental cars do not and there are parts of that road that could do serious damage to the car. It’s an extremely beautiful, scenic tour - you’ll love it!

Thank you! You have to come Patricia, it’s amazing!!! I thought that Air Canada had direct flights out of Pearson to either Maui or Honolulu, at least pre-Covid. I sure wish that Montreal had a direct flight. It was a 19 hour day from home to hotel. Totally worth it! 🥰

Wish there was a direct flight but even my husband says it was worth it - Hawaii is beautiful! Friends of mine recommended Maui, so maybe one day we’ll make it there 😊

Great choices for your trip! I’m jealous, I love Hawaii! I’m a little worried about you on a tour on the road to Hana in a dress. If it is a tour bus (not even sure they use buses on that road?) you will be okay but in the mini vans there is a lot of getting in and out at all of the sites. It is a beautiful tour for sure. When we switched in LAX on our way to Hawaii, the Delta gates were side by side! I am so glad you are bringing your new flouncy dress. You look really lovely in it. Have a wonderful time!

I did 9 days in L.A. with the sheath dress I wore on the plane and a cardigan sweater. Took shorts and a tee for nightwear. But I do a minimalist wardrobe and the only "hiking" I did was on city streets. 🙃 But I also had to wash the dress daily and hang dry. I love the Athleta dress. I wear sheath dresses all the time. Archie’s are great and fit true to size. I will say that they squeak quite a bit when wet, that’s my only complaint.

We were supposed to go to Kona 2020 but covid hit and we never got to go I am still praying that we get to go eventually but gosh those clothes that you are packing are so pretty that gives me ideas on how I would pack when we decide we're going to go. You're taking too many clothes. Take a pair of shorts and long pants and several tops that go with both, a dress, 2 bathing suits and unders. One of your tops can also double as a swim cover. Packing 1 or 2 outfits per day is a waste of space and strength.
