HI! Both the MJ Equator & Byron bay are approximately the same size as the Peahi but with longer temples. Check them out!

Wow! Thanks for all the lens info about maui jim's. I have had the rose lens for many years and love them too. I just watched this video and love the look of the green mirror. How would you rate the contrast/rose effect of the green mirror compared to the rose?

Very similar. I am a huge rise lens guy and the green mirror gives you that same effect. I would say they are a bit darker, but still great contrast.

Hi! Maui Jim authentic labs unfortunately do not offer lens customization options. Meaning, a green mirror cannot be applied to an HCL bronze base or otherwise. Mirror+tint combinations are pre-set with Maui Jim, and cannot be substitued with other base tints or mirror types. Check out Costa or SportRx lenses for copper/bronze base+green mirror lens options.

Yo SportRx! Which mirror lenses from Maui Jim would be the best for inshore fishing in south Florida rivers, mangroves, beaches, jetties etc? Blue Hawaii, Maui Green or Lava? Costa’s site says green mirror for inshore and blue for offshore but theirs is a copper lens on green mirror. Thanks for covering how Maui uses the neutral grey man htc bronze and then applying the mirror thus giving a different view. Very awesome

Sunglass rob mentioned that if you put a green mirror on top of a grey base lens you get a rose tinted view of the world. What happens if you put a green mirror on top of a brown base?

Warmer color depiction and feel with green and brown tones appearing brighter. A polarized brown combined with a green mirror is the go-to lens for sport fisherman on lakes, rivers, and deltas.

Thanks for the "rose tinge" info on the green here. It's the first place I've found good info-both visually as well as opinion. Anyone with experience in the field care to comment on various mirror colors' affects on the colors we see? I've been wearing indigo blue mirrored over amber tint and I'm shopping for something with less color distortion. I need to differentiate bright colors outdoors at work, and have found I cannot properly distinguish fluorescent pink from orange in the field when wearing the blue/amber setup. My next pair will have gray tint for sure, but I'm considering other mirror colors as well. What of Red, Gold, Silver (most neutral I'm sure), etc.

yea I just ordered two pairs akau and keokea in this color. I love my rose tinted Hemas and prefer rose to normal grey so that is a bonus for me. Now i need a green watch!

Hey Wade! Grey is definitely the way to go for neutral color distinction. As far as mirrors go, i'd recommend a grey or silver flash (subtle) mirror for the most true-tone depictions when looking out of the lens.

Unfortunately, Maui doesn't give an exact VLT number because their lens materials can vary in LTL by a .5% to 1.5%, so they categorize. The Maui Green Mirror falls under the Cat 3, which lands it between 8-18%. My professional opinion is that it would likely be close to the 10-12% mark.

@@sportrxeyewear thanks for reply. I find it strange that it’s such a secret. All other quality sunglass manufacturers are much more open about lens specifications. Notably Serengeti, Costa, Oakley, Julbo, Cebe, Smith are all very proud of their lens technology and are forthcoming with detailed speciations. In addition, selling high end sunglasses with a premium price and not including a decent case is questionable at best. Cheers
