Aloha and Mahalo. Yes, the old KBH and now Outrigger Kaanapali Beach Resort has 1/3rd homeless, 1/3rd displaced residents, and 1/3rd visitors/tourists. Quite a mix and it doesn't always go well. Best Aloha Wishes.

Thanks for the Lahaina Videos...I have a lot of beautiful memories...!!!...my father lived there years ago... myself also....I left in 2010...I got married...than I moved...but I do miss it very much also my Family 💔

Great report. My wife and I have reservations at Out Rigger KBH in January. With the current mix of guest's is it still a good option?

@@jeffedmundson3934the standard room is in the old building, very dated decor and no elevator to upper floors, the refurbished rooms are nice and comfortable with updated furnishings, Kaanapali Beach resort is our home away from home when we visit Maui, wonderful location and beautiful beach

Hi Steve - Really good advice to have since there are so many restaurants no longer operating. I have an odd question for you, Was your car parked across the street from Lahaina Coolers in that small pay lot on Dickinson during the fire? If so, I have some video of it taken around 3:45pm on 8/8.

Aloha John. Always good to see you and Thanks. NO, it was not. It was parked on Luakini Street outside our apartment (4-story green building), which is almost across from the "Free Lot" on Luakini behind Fleetwood's restaurant. It was totally destroyed. Thank, though. Best Aloha Holiday Wishes.

Maui was just SHOT DOWN by it's own County administration, Lahaina was severly effected by the fires and looks devestating still, but the rest of Maui (and Lahaina) need to continue to live. They have no easy pass to the mainland. I was on Maui recently and small boutiques went out of business, popular restaurants in Kihei, Wailea were half empty. The Kam I, II and III half empty. Maui need ALOHA and business en masse.
