This i may add came many years after these wars so most would have some memory loss to what actually transpired ( convenient, and to add to that Lord Chilcott took four years to compile this report).... What happened next was that Blair, although found guilty of war crimes was left untouched but to add salt to the wounds of all those affected, he became the main man at the World Bank! That's the first damn thing I would have yelled out to him. " Herman! Hurry, Sound the sirens!". 69 people died in one concentrated area in central Lahaina because they never received a warning! 40 people burned alive on Kahua Street partially due to no bullhorn, no evacuation and no pre-warnings earlier in the day as the morning fire burned. Amen sister. I lived on Oahu from 1961 thru 1968 and spent time on Maui when they were building the Sheraton Maui. The island probably has a population ratio of 1000 pineapples to one human, and 10 cows to one human and two policemen lol. I LOVED old Hawaii.. Sadly, you can't go back. The powerful took advantage and ppl sold their land instead of passing it down to family.. Not blaming anybody... Same thing happening all over the USA. I want to add something that has haunted me since 8/8/23 and running for our lives… there was NOTHING on the radio except music while I watched the fire from 2 pm I keep checking my Hurricane radio and only music..nothin on car radio as we sat in traffic with blocked exits.. only music played and no Info on the severity of the situation.. nothing on radio as I watched from miles away just music as I watched Lahaina burn all nite long. none of us had cell phone use for days and the radio could have helped notify people to get out and not wait till smoke started filling those homes which is what happened to me. It took me 1.5 hours in traffic because roads blocked to get out. To travel a mile ..Only music on radio is like a twilight horror nightmare. Thank God we did get out 🙏 In loving memory for all those that did not😢💔

That is such a really good testimony that none of the official officials made sure people even got alerts on radio! It hit me the other day that not only did not initially sound sirens, they never thought about sounding them for the next ensueing hours from 2:55 pm until 2 am next day! That's 11 hours of no one thinking in this panic, " oh my God!!! What can we do to warn and alert people?". Gee whiz, noone thought of sounding the siren??????😮. Now, that's ignorant! BUT.............let us not forget that in 2018, after Lane Fire, the Lahaina community had already told Herman that they wanted, they expected and demanded that sirens be sounded if there was a 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😮😮😮 Also in 2018, Herman and Mayor Victorino were also informed by Joe Pluta about this and changes that needed to be made to safeguard Lahaina!!!!! Herman knew he was supposed to sound sirens, he'd already been told, but he did not give a damned and this is why 69 people never received a warning and burned to death in Kahua Camp area in central Lahaina.

there is another Big Problem that bugged me, why didn't the Police and fire Dept. PRE-WARN of POSSIBLE NEED TO EVALUATE for Central Lahaina and Kahua St. and Kahua Camp Area?? Police and fire Dept. had from 6:30 am (morning Fire) to 2:55pm (noon Fire Flare-up) That's 8 hours to ready people! IS THIS NOT PROTOCOL? The morning fire was not just a little 3 Acre brush Fire! It was a brush Fire that had the Potential to become a dangerous Firestorm in 60-70 mph morning wind gusts! Fire Dept. knew Kahua Camp was in that WIND PATH and that Kahua Camp had access issues (No Firetrucks could get thru streets/only utility Trucks or motorcycles) But no! Police and Fire Top Leaders failed to look over the area or make a situational Judgement Prior to noon flare up. Plus, no one in Leadership gave a damned about ensuring FAST CLEARANCE of Hwy 30 (HECO and Police and Fire had 8 hours to do that also) what the hell were these people doing in the EOC that day? We should never settle for less in a country like usa, especially because of our position in the world. So, back in the eighties after being dropped off at an off ramp on my way home from work and as I walk towards homes when a van Flys up, a dude gets out with an actual movie camera and sets up right in front of me. He said a high speed chase was happening and that the suspect might take the off ramp. I asked why he didn't warn the man I had just seen at the gas station across from the ramp.. Even my family as a child recognized the ramp as a serious hazard being short and leading straight into a gas station. He said there was no time, and just then the car came speeding down the ramp, and the gas station blew up just like in the movies. 20 or 30 years, I see the footage watching a zombie movie on Netflix. I guess the point is there are vultures that know things are set for disaster, that let it happen, and may gain from it. I think a case should be made for murder cases were there was a duty to do something and the official didn't. The elected officials have a duty. Someone didn't do it and many people died. It is not mere negligence, th I ugh it may appear to be so.

@AudioFPP I remember being shaken up by the vultureism the night the gas station blew up, and complaining about it that night a tavern I used to go to. Two people died, the driver, and the man at the gas station. I think I might be in the helicopter shot but I haven't seen the movie again to check, and I'm not sure which movie it was.

I'll start with this. You mentioned that there was a FEMA conference going on in Honolulu the day of the fire. Yup reminds those who might know and for those too young to remember, FEMA was in NY the day before 9/11.. Now some will say "so what?" But if you look at the odds of the FEMA ppl being near or at the scene of a major disaster is just too bizar to believe. I also am in agreement that it does seem that certain ppl very well may have been kept out of the loop during the emergency. I worked for a county EMS. Out one point in my job history when our county was also burning. Our county commisioners gave up their their authority to FEMA so i have experienced the insanity they create. In our situatio, the commision ordered a TOTAL evacuation of the ENTIRE county due to the wildfires

I respect how you strive to see the good in people, and give them the benefit of the doubt. 20-30 years ago, in Mexico, I remember the many good people, both native as well as tourist, who did not quickly succumb to the growing evidences that the local officials, priests, and police were all completely blackmail, compromised, and/or corrupted by foreign and local cartels who were destroying the best qualities of Mexico and further South. It was a paradise and became filled with terror. But I do believe that it was possible that some of these civil servants didn't cross some evil lines, and didn't join in the harms.

My Grandfather is full blood Hawaiian and I've been following you since the 8th and am so grateful for being informed by you of the disaster and aftermath caused by negligence and misuse of power. I was shocked to hear Hawaiian Electric is putting up their rates to be more prepared in the future. They were warned to clear the areas around powerlines and to replace poles after the last fire. They shouldn't receive more money for their negligence. Looks like their smart meters also had something to do with some fires as well. That business of the firechief and Chief of Police being away on Oahu is super suspicious. It fits the planned disaster pattern perfectly. Like three fires on Maui and nobody comes back? Like Chief of Police leaves the meeting not to go to Maui but for a doctors appointment? Come on. Remember all the stuff happening on 911 including military exercises off the east coast? Maui was having military exercises too. That is the pattern; creating excuses for the people in charge when really they were in charge of the disaster.

There should be a policy that when major weather systems are approaching those in seats of authority and responsibility suspend previous engagements to be in high alert.
