The Texas panhandle fires burned over a million acres. Largest one in Texas ever. I live south of the panhandle and friends up there that went through the fires say that what once was grassland looks like a desert now. You only see the bear ground. I’ve been very sad to see this happen to so many. I can’t help but wonder if it’s part of the executive order Biden signed in 2021 that would make 30% of America government owned land by 2030? That includes waterways attached. Right now government owned land in USA is about 15% or less. The plan goes on to aim for 50% of land to be owned by the federal government by 2050. Scary thought

I think it is important that, if you do go, you do your best to support local businesses and be respectful of the situation. Lots of people are displaced and need the income in order to keep their land and rebuild their homes. But full disclaimer, I am not a native Hawaiian so I can’t speak on whether or not the general native populace really wants tourists there right now. Just more saying that, if you do go, support local and be respectful, don’t ask the locals about it or take pictures of the burn area and post it online.

Thank you for the video. I was going to Google Earth to view the devastation after the fire and it showed burnt areas when I first looked it up but they've since replaced the image with a 2016 image as if nothing happened. I have a female navy friend that's from Lahaina that lost her home. She's an old navy buddy from way back in the 80's. This video you made is so much more descriptive and detailed. I had no idea it was that bad. Keep up the good work. Here's hoping for a fast recovery.

My house exploded and burned in North Georgia in January, 2022. My heart goes out to everybody in Lahaina. It has taken two years for my house to get rebuilt, and it will be a few more months before it is ready. For those of you in Lahaina, there are so many obstacles that you have overcome, and just know that the rebuilding process is a very, very long process that requires so many things to go just right. You are loved. You are heard, and you will succeed. God Bless.

It's weird how many homes have had this happen recently. Do u have an electric smart meter on your old house?

0:45 Great job showing progress on the Maui fire. Clear explanation as the drone flys over the fire zone. Exactly what I was looking in my interest of the recovery. Thank you Jesse. Gary Scott Past visitor to Lahaina from California.

Great coverage and video! It’s very good to see the progress. However, my prayers are that those who call Lahaina home will find the ways and means to stay and rebuild their lives! 🙏🏼
