Maurice was the peacemaker when Barry and Robin would have difficulty over who sings lead on what. Without Mo, the Bee Gees would not have lasted so long. I've been a huge fan since 1977, love the spiritual elements to their music. Each time a brother is lost, it's so sad. What a dynasty!❤️

Bullcrap. Barry was the peacekeeper. Robin even called him that. Barry and Robin just had challenges that had nothing to do with who sang lead. Without BARRY the Bee Gees wouldn’t have begun or lasted so long. But Maurice was the crucial third person.

I’m glad that Robin won in a lot of cases and sang the lead. He had such a beautiful voice. I love listening to him and he seemed like such a sweet person. Barry is a wonderful singer too; I love all of the songs that he sings lead on too. The songs that Maurice sang are great too. There’s not as many of them but I love them. Man In The Middle is a great song.

Robin looks so empty and just totally drained here. Shattered and in stunned disbelief. Robin did an interview not long after Mo's death. He looked so lost and actually sounded quite Angry. He said something to the effect that if life is so unpredictable and fragile, then it just makes you truly wonder if Anything really means Anything!?? Poor Robin. There was no way on earth he could have ever prepared himself for losing his twin so suddenly.💔

Barry was at a show a yr or two ago honoring “The Bee Gees” & my heart broke for him! Their music would play & tears would fall gently down his face. My heart just broke for him. His wife clutched his hand tightly, offering him her love & support! Barry has his own children ( trying to support his brother’s families I have read) but his three brother’s deaths have sadly aged poor Barry so much. He was still just crushed with grief & losing close family & someone you love, is a heartache that sadly I know from experience, just never ever goes away! Robin so sad at Maurice’s passing & now Barry left devastated at all three of his brother’s deaths reminds me of a song my mom played all the time on her stereo, when I was a little girl! I never cared for country music as a teenager but I love “the new stuff now!” If my dear mom was alive( miss her so much!) she wouldn’t believe it!🤣We lived in Georgia when my dad was stationed there. The song was “THE CIRCLE GOES UNBROKEN” & think it was by The Cash Family”, Johnny Cash’s wife June Cash’s family. As young as I was back then, I still somehow understood the significance of that song(they are all gone now, as we all too shall be someday …..”BUT HOPEFULLY NOT TO SOON!”🤣🤣🤣) I thought of poor Barry & that song when I watched Barry quietly sitting in the audience, filled with overwhelming grief as the audience stood all around him applauding the many accomplishments of The Bee Gees! You can tell poor Barry would have given every accolade, every award & every award back in a heartbeat if he could just have his dearly loved brothers( & undoubtedly his parents too) brothers back! God Bless!🌻

Barry was sad and in disbelief as well, but what Robin was feeling is just untelling. This was his TWIN BROTHER he had just lost, the feelings of shock, fear, sadness and numbness all in to one at the same time had to be drowning him. When a twin looses the other twin that's a different kind of grief. On the other hand, if it were the other way around Robin passing before Maurice, Maurice would have taken it MUCH harder. He was extremely close to Robin.

Barry still has a sister. Learning that comforted me a little. I think she likes it out of the limelight. As I said, it was a little comforting to know he still has one sibling, although that doesn't take away from the loss of the others. Maurice was such a lovely man.

@@mozehey You are right Marian & I had read that quite awhile ago actually. When I said Barry was sadly “alone now”, I should have actually gone in more detail by saying “BARRY WAS THE LAST ONE LEFT OF THE GIBB BROTHERS ( four brothers & their three brother “ THE BEE GEES” group!). You’ll note ha! I am going into more detail now 🤣Ha! The sister has al and remained out of the limelight & many of course weren’t even aware that the four brothers even had a sister! I meant Barry so very sadly did nit have any brothers from the singing group left. The sister wasn’t close with brothers for awhile but undoubtedly I would imagine it had everything to do with all the brothers being on concert, busy writing music & songs, then tied up with their own families with any extra time they had! Her brothers were very good to their sister though & I am sure they all loved one another. Now though I knew there was just the brother & sister left. I have read numerous articles on how terribly much Barry misses his three brothers & how difficult it is, as we all might imagine, have his three brothers pass away so young! ! May God Bless both Barry & his sister. I just watched an old “THE BEE GEES” concert with the three brothers, from yrs & yrs ago on PBS! It was fantastic( I taped it) and immediately hearing all their familiar hits on MY PBS STATION, it puts a song 🎶 in your heart! Their harmony is just gorgeous! I was also sad at the same time knowing “The Twins”, Maurice & Robin are no longer with us, but had joined their younger brother Andy, in heaven. What a great special it was on tv. Adding to the fun they introduced Olivia Newton John, sitting in the front row ctr w/ her daughter ( she was so young there but is now an adult)! They introduced her twice, singing “ GREASE” to the audience, while clips her & John Travolta played on a giant screen behind “the three brothers.”Olivia is still just the sweetest person! He did an excellent interview in 2014 I think it was with Rolling Stone. In it, he talks about his guilt for being the last remaining brother. He said since he was the oldest, he should have gone first. I do believe based on more recent interviews, he has now made peace with being the last brother standing. I'm glad.

I never understood why Von(Yvonne) did not pursue getting to the bottom of the alleged mishandling of Mo's treatment; nor can I understand why it was concluded a better fit to cremate this gorgeous being, & to make only 4 separate gems, instead of immortalizing this man & leaving him at the mausoleum where the fam would be able to leave flowers & such on a continuum. Now there is no place for the growing Gibb fam to lay a dedication to him. The choice was out of our hands. I'll share what I do know: Mo was the brilliance behind creating, arranging, & producing momentous sound tracks, & if there had not been the silent strength of Mo with all the friction & the spark between the boys as band mates & in brotherhood, there would be no Bee Gees! It takes a certain kind of Brother to stand toward the back of the stage so that the other two get more light; that was Maurice Ernest Gibb; the all-important, yet forgotten, third voice in the Bee Gees blend of vocal harmony genius. He was the one with the perfect high to low harmonization pitch, with the deepest, richest, R&B soulful, seductive, & smoothest voice register a trio of this caliber & this world will ever find. Not to forget he was the band manager & highly underrated multi talented instrumentalist; all self taught, no less. The third Bee Gee; Maurice E. Gibb! I am missing my Precious Mo & all his wonderful inspiration & advice for life. He would slay you in his love with one warm embracing smile, or one look into those deep soulful eyes. I often said I think Mo was our Angel in disguise, what couldn't he do! He was a survivor of this world & whatever craziness life threw out at him; he showed strength multiple times over, to reinvent & recover, until the day The Lord decided to take him home. He lived in the "now" moment & had an incredible way of making you see the light & understanding of this. He had authentic kindness & softness of heart. He became my broad shoulder to cry on when we lost our Darling Andy, & not a day passes where he is not thought of sincerely. He left us such a huge tremendous void. Mo never thought of himself as anyone other than an ordinary guy. Money & fame never changed his big heart. He always thought of others first before himself; & he contributed financially to people he didn't even know that were down & out in life & needing a hand up. 💋He was my personal inspiration & lightening strike to my life. I will forever miss My Precious Heavenly Handsome Brother Mo Gibb.😥Capt. Moby, King of Paintball, can't wait to sock it to you once again! Time does nothing to heal the pain & loss, it simply allows one to adapt, if you choose. I know Brothers Witty Rob & Barry Bear were never the same again; even after their many years of estrangement, & coming back together, the reconciliation was severed; the cut was just too deep to mend after losing Mo! Keep Sir Brother Barry Bear & Sweet Sister Lesley in thought & prayer; it's been a very rough year with many unpredictable moments. Missing My Darling Andy, Precious Mo, Witty Rob, & now included our Beautiful Bright Beri Bee~ so sad! 💔😥 😥 😥... 😥💐🌸 Thank you for this post; it's a good video to keep circulated.

Maurice even though he sang much less than Barry and Robin, he was the one who amused the band, especially at the concert in 1989 when he took the camera.

He was also their main instrumentalist, so he had a vital role in their song-writing processes. Always "coming up with that magic chord" as Barry said. He also had a unique skill of laying the third part in their harmonies to give it that magical Bee Gees sound! Legend!

@@ceciliaroge1651 - Even though not identical twins, they still had a special and amazing twin bond. I don't think Robin ever got over it. Even when Robin was involved in the terrible train wreck in his teens, Maurice said "Something has happened to Robin!" Mo was the stabilizing force between the brothers, had a wonderful sense of fun and the absolute best musician of the three. It was also at Robin's house where Andy collapsed before dying and then he suffered his own prolonged and terrible death. I adored Robin.

Y Mo...destruido por estas dos pérdidas también agravó su problema con el alcohol...sensible, humilde, amado por todos los que lo trataban, cómico, talentosisimo y muy bonito...vi un vídeo con Ringo Starr absolutamente genial, gracioso, eran muy amigos.. Ringo en THE BEATLES hizo un rol parecido, como el genial George Harrison, entre los egos descomunales de John y Paul...lo mismo en QUEEN, JOHN DEACON , el bajista, fue esa clase de persona, el más tímido, el más discreto, el 0 conflicto, era un genio no sólo como bajista, de todo sabía... Robin was Mo's twin. I'm sure this hit him the hardest. They say twins have a special connection. Something no one can understand unless you're a twin. Now they're both gone. So sad and tragic. Poor Barry lost all 3 of his brothers that must be devastating. But he keeps their memory alive and is still performing along with his son and Maurice's daughter.

If you want to blame someone you should blame the moron Maurice was married to. A routine colonoscopy would have found his twisted intestines that was a birth defect. He was born with it. Men are terrible about going to the doctor but she was so busy spending his money and Idol worshiping him that she wasn’t a wife she was more of a fan. My cousin worked with him and he said she was one of the biggest idiots he had ever met in his life.

My precious #MauriceGibb he was one of a kind, his voice was one of a kind butt yet the same hard to tell apart at times, until he sang one by himself it was just like Barry and Robin's one of a kind sounds like no one else! The Bee Gees are the best always & forever! Love and miss Maurice & Robin Gibb Maurice with his most lovely smile and a jokester like he was much like myself! Robin I love to hear him talk he's voice and intelligent mine, always spoken his mine no matter the issue same as Barry does and I could always see and hear honesty from all of the bee gees when they done shows and went on Phill Donuhoe and Oprah shows, I know that I was blessed by there music,the shows and the love they shared with all there fans! I never saw them live butt if I had got to believe this they would of known that Karen Head was in the house! Lol the world will never see are hear the likes of of music and gentlemen such as these guys ever again! God bless and keep all of the bee gees safe forever in God's hands!
